The Homewood Dance Dash Leeds Challenger Troop Castle Woodchurch Church of England Primary School Newsletter 5 Friday 15th November 2019 www.woodchurch.kent.sch.uk @WoodchurchCEP [email protected] 01233 860232 Dear Parents and Carers, I must say that it’s a novelty to be writing this sitting at my desk wearing my pyjamas; I think we might have to make this a regular thing! It was great to see the children and staff in theirs today too in aid of Children in Need. Just after break time today, the wonderful Dance Dash Team from Homewood dashed in to perform a few lively numbers for us which we all enjoyed very much! Thank you for sending your children in with donations to support such a good cause. The fun didn’t end here however! Throughout the afternoon we have been busy completing a danceathon; non stop dancing from 1 ‘til 3! We kicked things off with a whole school Cha Cha Slide followed by a whole range of other party dances - I have a feeling that there may be a few aching muscles tomorrow, including mine! Every class has also, of course, taken the opportunity to find out more about the Children in Need charity and the ongoing valuable work that they do as well as thinking about how we can support those in need ourselves. Year 5 had a super trip to Leeds Castle last week to support their learning around the Tudors. A tour and workshops to find out more about the castle and those who lived and visited there certainly enthused everyone and gave them an experience that they won’t forget. Thank you the lovely parents who gave up their time and supported Mrs Holness and Miss Cooper to make it such a success. Thank you also to the children and families who joined us at All Saints Church on Sunday to take part in the Remembrance Service which is always a very humbling experience. Those children who attended, representing our school, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Scouts and Beavers, did themselves proud. Wishing you a great weekend, Mrs Dawes Worship In addion to focusing on Remembrance and Armisce Day, during Worship we have connued to reflect upon proverbs and how they can support us with decisions about the choices we make and what guidance they can offer us. Wednesday was World Kindness Day and each class used this an opportunity to explore our school value of Kindness and how we can make sure we make a conscious effort to perform acts of kindness.
