The National Garden (formerly the Royal Garden) is apublic park of 38 acres in the centre ofthe Greek capital, Athens. It is located directly behindthe Greek Parliament building In the 1920s the park wasopened to the public and renamed "National Garden".

The National Garden, is open to the public from sunriseto sunset. There are 4 main entrances. It was designedby the German agronomist Friedrich Schmidt whoimported over 500 species of plants and a variety ofanimals including peacocks, ducks, and turtles.

The Garden is a healthy oasis for the inhabitants ofAthens.

Alsos Neas Smyrnis is a big park in the heart of NeaSmyrni. It is 50,000 m².

In the park there are a lot of trees and flowers. Thereare spaces where you can jog, ride a bike or exercise.

There is also a playground for young children and a stagewhere we watch shows, dances and theatre shows inSummer.

On sunny days, families and friends enjoy their coffee ora soft drink in the park cafeteria.

Alsos is one of the healthiest places in our region.

There is a small park near our school. Most pupilscross the park on their way to school.

I n the park there are trees, flowers, a playground andspaces where kids can run, ride their bikes and playgames. They usually go to the park after school andspend some time there before going to school.

It is our favourite healthy place.

Vouliagmeni Lake is a natural lake with healingproperties located in Vouliagmeni, Attica. The watercomes from a depth 50-100 meters and has atemperature of 22 ° C to 25 ° C.

In the lake there is an underground cave whichcommunicates with the sea by various galleries. The lakeis 260 meters long and 145 meters wide. It is locatedhalf a meter above sea level. It belongs in the Natura2000 areas.

The lake was created when part of the roof of a largeunderground cavern collapsed about 2000 years ago. Theexplored length of the cave is 3,123 meters. In the cavethere are 14 tunnels.

The lake waters are indicated for rheumatic diseases,sports injuries, nervous system and skin disorders. A lot ofpeople swim in the lake throughout the year. In thepremises there is also a restaurant-bar.

In the 1980s a kind of sea anemone was discovered in thelake, the Paranemonia vouliagmeniensis, which lives only inLake Vouliagmeni.

The waters of the lake are also the home to the species offish Garra Rufa, otherwise known as Doctor Fish Spa Fishwhich cleans the skin from dead cells and performs arelaxing massage.

In the green areas of the lake, group fitness classes(Yoga, Pilates, etc.) are organized on a weekly basis. Theexercises designed to relieve stress, relaxation and gentlemuscle toning.
