WOMEN’S WEEK 2020 Talking Women Business Leaders Participants Dr Catriona Wallace Based between the US and Australia, Dr Catriona Wallace is the Founder & Execuve Director of Arficial Intelligence company Flamingo Ai, provider of Machine Learning technologies. Fla- mingo Ai is the second only woman led business ever to list on the Australian Stock Exchange. Catriona has been recognised as the Most Influenal Woman in Business & Entrepreneurship (AFR) and as one of the country’s most eminent sciensts by the Royal Instuon of Australia. With a dedicated passion for encouraging more women to pursue careers in technology, Catriona is leading by example. She has a PhD in Organizaonal Behaviour and is a published author and analyst. Catriona’s links with business schools around the world allow her to share internaonal prac- ce and case studies, and as such brings a strong evidence-based approach to her speaking topics. Catriona, an Adjunct Professor at the Australian Graduate School of Management, UNSW, is also a philanthropist, human rights acvist and mother of five. SPEAKERS Deanne Stewart Deanne Stewart joined First State Super as Chief Execuve Officer in 2018. As one of Australia’s largest super funds, Deanne has led First State Super’s drive to be a ‘Force for Good’ through its responsi- ble investment philosophy and focus on providing its members with the best guidance and advice for rerement. In the past 12 months Deanne has led the integraon of First State Super’s financial planning business StatePlus and successful merger discussions with Victoria super fund VicSuper. In 2019, Deanne was also honoured as a Workplace Gender Equality Agency Pay Eq- uity Ambassador. An experienced financial services industry leader, Deanne is passion- ate in her belief that a strong culture and clearly defined purpose drives business success. Before joining First State Super, Deanne was Chief Execuve Officer of MetLife Australia. Before this she held senior roles within BT Financial Group including as General Manager for Superan- nuaon, Markeng and Direct Channels. Deanne has more than 25 years’ leadership experience in financial services in superannuaon, wealth and insurance sectors in Australia and internaon- ally. This includes me as Managing Director with Merrill Lynch Investment Management in New York, and as an Engagement Manager with McKinsey and Company in London. Deanne is a gradu- ate from the University of NSW with a degree in Commerce (Finance and Markeng). Deanne also holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management in the United States as a Fulbright Scholar. The Hon. Bronnie Taylor, MLC For 20 years prior to her elecon, Bronnie was a registered nurse, specialis- ing in cancer care and palliave care. Her work in these fields saw her become one of the first McGrath Foundaon Breast Care nurses, and then on to become the Director of Cancer Services in the Southern NSW Local Health District. Her polical jour- ney is one of an ‘accidental acvist’, becoming involved in polics only due to her frustra- ons with the ‘system’ and its implicaons for regional paents. Bronnie served as the Dep- uty Mayor of the Cooma-Monaro Shire and became involved in the Naonal Party, before being elected to the Legislave Council in 2015. In August 2016 Bronnie was appointed Par- liamentary Secretary for Southern NSW and Regional Communicaons. In January 2017, she became Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Premier and Southern NSW. She is passionately com- mied to our rural and regional communies, and in parcular about health and educaon out- comes, local government and agriculture. Aſter the 2019 State elecon, Bronnie was appointment Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth and Women. Bronnie is married with 2 daughters and is part of a family farming operaon at Nimmitabel.
