QUID PRO QUO HARASSMENT

Example:

A supervisor demands sexual favors in return for better treatment of a subordinate, or threatens the subordinate with firing, demotion, or transfer unless sexual favors are given.

HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT HARASSMENT

Example:

If behavior of a sexual nature creates an offending, intimidating, or hostile work environment for another employee, it is sexual harassment.

HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT HARASSMENT

Pornography, Degrading Comments, Vulgar Language, Sexual Touching, Embarrassing Questions, Sexual Jokes etc.

NON-EMPLOYEE HARASSMENT

Harassment O-T-J by a non-employee CAN lead to sexual harassment charges, just as sexual harassment by an employee would.

Apart that there are many types of harassment which could be observed in a workplace environment, which is strictly punished

Studies found 50% of sexual harassment cases co-workers or peers were the alleged harassers.

The 1991 amendment to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 allows victims to recover punitive damages.

Only 26 % involved the immediate supervisor.

consequences for the harasser.

Various ways to avoid Harassment:1) Employees should mind the language they are working on with their colleagues. This may have a significant impact unknowingly, which has to be avoided2) If some one is offended with his/her words, have to ask them to stop immediately.3) Observers has to respond immediately to the situation and stop the harassment activity and lodge a complaint in respective organization.4) The Harassment authorities should take immediate and strict action to set an example in the organization.
