About wolves…THE LARGEST MEMBERS OF THE DOG FAMILY.
THEY LIVE AND HUNT IN PACKS OF AROUND SIX TO TEN WOLVES WITH A DOMINANT ‘ALPHA
MALE’ AS THE LEADER.
Because they hunt in packs, wolves are able to take down very
large prey that can feed many members of the pack.
The alpha male and his mate are the only members of the pack that breed. The rest of the pack just helps to take care of the
young pups.
Wolves can run at speeds of up to 35 miles per hours!!!
The Spine-Tingling Howl of a Wolf
• Some howls are confrontational
• Communal howls send territorial messages from one pack to another
• A lone wolf howls to attract the attention of his pack
• Form of communication
Some native Indian tribes believed
that wolves were spiritual beings
that could impart magical powers.
There are countless different kinds of wolves. Some of them are:
Iberian Wolf Red Wolf
