We also have a chance to clinch the program’s first outright TVL Championship since 2008. VARSITY CLINCHES SHARE OF 2ND STRAIGHT TVL TITLE After nine days without a game due to scheduling and snow, Westwood returned to action getting two league wins against Hopkinton and Medway, maintaining their two game league in the TriValley League standings and assuring at least a share of their second straight league title. On Tuesday night, Westwood hosted Hopkinton and defeated the Hillers 6448. Junior Allie Morin led the team on both ends of the floor, contributing 17 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Joining Morin in double figures were Christina Bonfiglio with 13 points and Cailin Harrington with 11. The Wolverines traveled to Medway on Thursday and escaped a secondhalf Mustang rally with a 4838 victory. Westwood stretched its lead to 14 midway through the third quarter before Medway came almost all the way back, cutting the lead to 3 with 3:00 left. The Wolverines broke a 4th quarter scoring drought with a layup by a Morin and a threepointer from Harrington to put the game away. Harrington led Westwood with 14 points, followed by Andrea Meincke with 10 points and 8 rebounds and Morin with 9 points, 6 steals and 5 assists. Westwood improves to 140 in the TVL and 151 overall and has a busy vacation week. The Riley Classic is being held Sunday and Monday where the Wolverines will play Norwood and Wellesley or Archbishop Williams. Norton visits Westwood on Wednesday and Friday is a road game against Bishop Feehan, who handed Westwood its only loss of the season.
