WOHD celebration

As of our belief to be a positive participant in the society and to make a

difference as we move along and to spread Dental and public

awareness and from this belief we Tanta Scientific Association of Dental

Students (TSADS) (member of DSSA-Egypt) insisted to celebrate the

WOHD and raising the motto of "Tanta Celebrating Healthy smiles" and

in a way that's unique and taking in our minds the different social and

economic levels and to spread among all society criteria so we present

you with this WOHD celebration project that took place from 20th of

March up till 4th of April with Media coverage from the

and sponsors who backed us to the limits with free samples and every

mean to make this day happen so we'd like to thank our sponsors and

all the organizers who participated in this day and making such day

possible in Tanta

Tanta club :

60 students were celebrating healthy smiles with more than 500 people

in Tanta club on Thursday , 20-3-2014 from 1.30 pm to 6.30 pm

There are 3 groups of students: awareness group, kids’ area group and

clinic group

“awareness group “

This group was responsible for communication with people from different ages and simply guiding them

to obtain healthy smile using 500 flyers &banners and screen videos

The awareness program included some important information that everyone should know about for

better oral health such as ; some oral diseases ,different types of restorations and the right way to brush

their teeth and obtain good oral hygiene

Our program also included sessions to guide people to the right way to brush and floss their teeth using

articulators .

“Kids’ area group”

This group were responsible for guiding parents to know more about primary and mixed dentition, the

common dental problems they may face with their children and the best way to preserve their children

oral health

There were also entertainment parts for the children including; drawing competitions and

sessions,painting their faces and funny videos simply teaching them how they brush their teeth

Around 50 kids participated in our competitions and sessions

“Clinic group “

A group of 8 dental students made diagnosis for 35 cases and scaling for 20 cases

The cases were of different ages and as a help samples were distributed to every case

And by the end of the day we ran for the sake of celebrating healthy smiles

"Best Smile competition "

We had a photo session booth that we took photos of best smile among the crowd and lots of

participants took part in this competition around 40 participant took part in this competition.

Medical campus : “28-3-2014’’

Awareness program were arranged in the faculties around the medical campus ;

faculty of Sciences ,medicine and pharmacy and as for the faculty of dentistry we

made awareness for both students and patients . They were around 250 persons

The awareness program included some important information that everyone

should know about for better oral health such as ; some oral diseases ,different

types of restorations and the right way to brush their teeth and obtain good oral

hygiene

Our booth contained many types of food that are useful for the dental health

We have taken also a grouped photo of organizers of the smile of the WOHD logo

“Shershaba dental campaign”

And a part of celebrating a WOHD agroup of about 15 dental students

made a dental campaign to a nearby village “Shershaba”

The total number of diagnosed patients were 33 :

7 extraction cases

-11 ART cases

- 15 scaling cases

“School visits “ “11-3-2014’’

2 school visits were made in Tanta as a part of our awareness program that

included some important information that everyone should know about for better

oral health such as ; some oral diseases ,different types of restorations and the

right way to brush their teeth and obtain good oral hygiene

Our visit was to “Al-Zahraa School “ &”Al-Galaa School” . Around 600 students

improved their dental knowledge with the help of our Colleagues .There were

also drawing sessions and competition to entertain the students and spread Oral

Health in an entertaining way that they won't forget in the future as for the age

criteria for the students :

400 students ranged from 14-16 yrs

200 students ranged from 6-9 yrs

And around 150 samples were distributed among the students

Orphan’s day ‘’4-4-2014’’

As a part of our celebration we made awareness campaign among orphans who

ranged from 6 to 12 years

There were also an entertainment part for the children including ; drawing

competitions and sessions , painting their faces and funny videos simply teaching

them how to brush their teeth

Around 50 kids participated in this celebration
