Marquee is located in front of the community center on Spanish Needle. Posted on the marquee will be events or important information pertaining to the subdivision. Please check the marquee for any future updates to stay informed. Residents, please remember the sign posted at the community center states NO ANIMALS ALLOWED in the park area.

Our community center has a small play area for small children, in this area we have small pebbles, be safe while playing in this area. We have also noted that some of these pebbles are being thrown out of the play area into the tennis court and into the pavilion area, mainly the pool and surrounding pool area. These small pebbles can cause major damage to our pool. Please, keep a close eye on small children and do not allow them to pick up the pebbles and throw them into any one of these areas.

SUPPLEMENT OF LAW ENFORECMENT Westlake Place HOA-Board of Directors have hired off duty deputies employed with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, as a supplement of law enforcement for our subdivision. Please remember Mrs. Gail Mayfield is the Supplement of Law Enforcement Liaison, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact her.

PatrOL SErviCE rEPOrt:• Monitoring of stop signs and school zones resulted in only a couple of citations issued for traffic violations. the number of citations issued has decreased tremendously.• residents remember school is back in session, stay alert and drive at the posted speed limit. • Make sure you come to a complete stop at all stop signs.• a couple of vehicles, which had an expired inspection sticker were tagged with an abandoned vehicle warning. • a resident in the subdivision asked the sergeant to take the report for a terroristic threat; the report was initiated and completed.

GraFFiti:The fence of Mayde Creek Bayou toward the front of subdivision graffiti was noted. these residents were notified and given 30 days to take care of this matter. Most of the graffiti has been removed as of today. if a resident wants the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to take care of the graffiti the information and paperwork is posted on our website, www.westlakeplace.com.

CriME iN tHE SUBDiviSiON:• two reports of breaking and entering on Hazy Creek:• Unknown suspect burglarized complainant’s home and another resident stated her residence was burglarized.• two reports filed on Cypressvine Drive: Unknown suspect burglarized complainant’s home. Resident stated unknown suspects stripped the cooper wire coils from A/C unit from his rental property.

i was notified by a resident that her home was forcefully entered and burglarized by an unknown suspect on a Sunday afternoon. the resident was gone for approximately two hours. if you are outside, please stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity in the subdivision to the Harris County Sheriffs Office. this incident is something that should be reported to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office immediately.

Once again we seem to have some resident’s that are continuously making false statements, and or filing false reports. resident’s please remember the Harris County Sheriff’s Office keeps records of telephone calls and reports.

POSTING OF GARAGE SALE SIGNSPlease be aware that taping a sign of any kind to a stop sign or a road sign IS agaInST THe laW and could result in our deputies issuing you a citation.

The correct way in our subdivision is using a staked sign place your address, time and date and remove later on that day or as soon as the event is over. This is the only acceptable way to post such signs. If posting a sign on a resident’s property, please ask for prior permission as a courtesy. If a resident places a garage sale sign in median of the front or back entrance and if this results in any type of damage to the sprinkler system, you will be charged for any needed repairs. We are requesting that all residents limit your garage sales to no more than once a quarter - meaning four times a year only.

ARCHITECTURAL FORM/ HOME IMPROVEMENT FORM

all residents must complete a home improvement form for all improvements, including but not limited to: repainting (even the same color), re-roofing, new siding, sheds or outbuildings, new garage doors and basketball goals. The aCC approval must be given in advance prior to the work being started. We have specific guidelines for sheds and outbuildings. Call aCmP 281-855-9867 to request a form. Please mail to the aCmP address at the top of the form.

TRASH PICk-UP STICkERS BELONG ON TRASH CANS

The trash pickup sticker you receive each quarter shows you have paid your invoice and are a valid customer. It contains your address and the expiration date. The sticker is designed to be placed on the trashcan please do not place these stickers on your mailbox. These stickers occasionally won’t stick even to a garbage can; use a heavy-duty tape when this occurs. Trash will not be picked up if the sticker is not on the trashcan and they will not pick up the trash at your residence if you have not paid. Do not place these stickers on your mailbox. Do not leave your trashcans out for an extended period of time. remove your cans from the street as soon as possible. The stickers and the trashcans might be stolen. Some of our residents are unclear on the concept of putting trashcans at the curb for

VETERINARY PUBLIC HEALTH LEASH LAW

There are still several animals noted running freely in the subdivision; please keep a close eye on your pets. Please be aware of a new scam, it has been reported that a young white male tried to pick up a resident’s pet that had got loose. This person claimed he was trying to catch the pet in case there was a reward being offered.

Animals that are not properly restrained pose a treat to all our residents. While you may know your pet is friendly, an animal running at someone who is walking by is very scary for that person. Many children are afraid of animals and become frightened, which could result in the child getting hurt to avoid the animal.

Veterinary Public Health (formerly called Harris County Animal Control) advises that “All dogs and cats must be kept under restraint while in the unincorporated areas of Harris County, Texas. The custodian of a dog or cat is not authorized to have, harbored or keep any unlicensed dog or cat or to allow them to become a stray.”

Restraints are defined as “the control of a dog or cat under the following circumstances:1. When it is controlled by a line or leash not more than six feet in length, if the line or leash is held by a human being who is capable of controlling or governing the dog or cat in question or 2. When it is within a fully enclosed vehicle or3. When it is on the premise of the custodian and the animal does not have access to sidewalk or street.”

While it may be nice to have your animal out in the yard while you work or play, it is against the law, unless the animal is properly restrained. Lets all help keep our subdivision safe and comfortable place for all residents by being responsible pet owners. This will not only protect anyone who may be walking or bicycling in the area, but also the pet owner who could be held legally responsible or possibly sued for failing to properly restrain their pet.

STREETLIGHT OUTAGESPlease report a burned out street light, any resident may call Center Point directly at 713–207-2222. However, for those with internet access, you may also make this report on-line. For those interested, the website address to do this is http://cnp.centerpointenergy.com/outage. Then enter your contact details so that they can get back to you if more information is needed. On the following page enter the details of the light(s) with the problem. Just as you would if reporting the outage via telephone, you will need to provide the street address where the light is located and the six digit number that is prominently displayed on the front of the pole. Under normal circumstances the crew will out to fix the problem within seven working days.

Anyone noticing a streetlight that is out or some other malfunction is encouraged to report the problem to Center Point via either these two methods without delay. Our association is charged for every streetlight each month, irrespective of whether or not the light is functioning. So please help us get value for your hard earned money!

Talan holmeS ChariTy golF ClaSSiC

Talan Holmes Charity Golf Classic is a Golf Tournament that has one main goal. We are all about providing funds to a group of people who are born with Tebial Hemimelia (TH from here on). TH is a rare malformation, 1:1,000,000 or lack of formation of the Tibia which is the weight bearing bone in the bottom of the leg. This tournament started out to pay the medical expenses of Talan Holmes, the tournament chairman’s son. Talan has undergone his first surgery and is now working with his first prosthesis trying to learn to walk.

Many families, like the Holmes family, are unaware of TH and until delivery don’t know that their child has TH. Our goal, while still paying the medical expenses of Talan, is to help other families that may not have the ability to raise their own funds or simply can’t raise enough to get their child the prosthesis that he or she needs.

The Golf Tournament is on Friday, March 2, 2012 at the River Ridge Gold Club, 3133 Brazos Oak Lane, Sealy, TX 77474. Registration begins - 6:30 AM, Breakfast - 7:00 AM and Event Start Time - 9:00 AM

For more information about the tournament, sign up to be a sponsor and to register, visit www.birdeasepro.com/talan2012. THCGC is a 501c3 organization.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo today announced the launch of a new summer festival, benefiting the Show and allowing Houstonians an enjoyable, refreshing and entertaining break from the city’s summer heat. Houston’s Hot Summer Break, July 4-8, 2012, is an all day, five-day music, food, beer, wine and spirits festival, featuring top chefs and mixologists, shopping, and live music. Held completely inside Reliant Center, the summer event includes cooking demonstrations, a beer brewing competition, wine and liquor seminars and the search for Houston’s best cocktail, margarita and martini. Patrons also can explore both floors of Reliant Center to listen and dance to live concerts featuring country, blues and jazz music, along with disc jockeys playing a mix of club music. “We are thrilled to announce the development of Houston’s Hot Summer Break,” said Skip Wagner, president of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. “Houstonians love to celebrate and this festival offers them a really cool way to do so. We look forward to making it one of the best and most successful events of its kind, offering attendees the ability to get away without going away!” Another highlight of the event, a restaurant-style café, will allow attendees the opportunity to sit and enjoy creations from several Houston-area restaurants, cafés and diners, including a wine bar and coffee shop. Net proceeds generated from Houston’s Hot Summer Break will directly benefit the mission of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is a Section 501(c)(3) charity that benefits youth, supports education, and facilitates better agricultural practices through exhibitions and presentation. Since its beginning in 1932, the Show has committed approximately $283 million to the youth of Texas. The 2012 Show runs Feb. 28th - March 18th.
