WLAQ'S
After another eventful year for women in the legal
profession, WLAQ celebrates International Women's Day
by releasing a list of women that have inspired the WLAQ
Committee ....
balance for better
Now in its second year, this
List continues as a
way for the WLAQ
Committee to publicly
(and anonymously) thank
the women from, or in,
Queensland who inspire
them, and who have made a
difference in their life.
Thank you to everyone
who has committed to this
year's IWD theme of
#BalanceForBetter.
The names on the list are supplied by the WLAQ Committee.
Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy.
The comments are the individual opinions of the Committee.
JAMIE SHINE, PRESIDENT
WLAQ congratulates those
firms who have actively
contributed to making a
difference for women in the
profession.
The WLAQ Inspo List was
released for the first time in
2018 and was welcomed by
many (so much so, it crashed
our website!).
WLAQ is grateful to be
surrounded by so many
amazing women in our
profession.
International Women’s Day
is a global celebration of the
achievements of women. We
live in an age where we
expect gender balance in
the workplace; we celebrate
its presence and we notice
its absence.
With ongoing efforts by
everyone, balance for better
in Queensland law can be
achieved. We have already
witnessed progress in our
law graduate numbers, and
now we need to see gender
balance in our leadership
positions.
