1. Computer Science 2. Introduction Computers have been around for quite some time. As we continue to push our limits and perfect our craft, we have grown. To see the first computer ever built to the computers we have now is amazing. From ENIAC to the Apple Mac. Computers have become user friendly, conveniently available, and mobile. Allowing us to step out the office, but still in contact. 3. ENIAC 4. Computers 5. Computers From the video you can tell how far we have come. To program a computer you had to use punch cards. These cards was the way for the computer to talk. 6. Computers Algorithm 7. Computer Literacy The knowledge and ability to utilize computers and related technology efficiently, with a range of skills covering levels from elementary use to programming and advanced problem solving. Computer literacy can also refer to the comfort level someone has with using computer programs and other applications that are associated with computers. Another valuable component is understanding how computers work and operate. 8. World Wide Web An information system on the Internet that allows documents to be connected to other documents by hypertext links, enabling the user to search for information by moving from one document to another. 9. World Wide Web 10. World Wide Web 11. World Wide Web We have come a long way since dial-up. It was a point and time where if someone called you while you are connected, you would be disconnected from the web. New technology has allowed us to stay connected without losing anything. Now you can talk on the phone and surf the web. This happen with the advancement of how we connected to the net. 12. World Wide Web 13. The Central Processing Unit The Central Processing Unit also called the CPU This is the part of the computer that is the actual part of the computer and represents its main part which is synonymous to the brain. It can perform a host of complex tasks right from the calculation of mathematical formulas to being able to transfer the information on to the motherboard. 17. The Central Processing Unit 18. Motherboard A motherboard is the part of the computer that you will find hidden beneath the removable parts that are right on top if you were to open the computer. The motherboard is like the backbone of the computer and ensures that all the other parts of the computer are connected to one another. There is no part of the hardware of the computer that is not in some way or the other connected to the motherboard. The thing to do if your computer is not working well enough is to see if all the things are connected to the motherboard. 19. Motherboard 20. Hard Drive 21. RAM 22. Video Card 23. Sound Card 24. Open Systems Interconnection 25. Summary In this presentation I have laid out what I have learned in the last eight weeks. I am still amazed at what we can do with the help of technology and computers. Also how we have grown. The computers has become smaller, more powerful, and all around better for the world. 26.
