The Witness During the season

of Advent, our church sup-ported a local organization by raising money for Hope Village, an endeavor of the City of Hope Outreach (CoHO).

Hope Village will be a community of 10 tiny homes for those in Faulk-ner County experiencing homelessness. It is meant to be a transitional housing opportunity for individuals, families, and veterans in need of a place to live.

During Advent, we sold ornaments with the encouraging message, "the home that love built," as a part of our fund-raising effort. That short message, "the home that love built," speaks directly to the faith-ful work you've done as a congregation. You all demonstrated that our con-gregation is a place where

love grows, and that we desire to share this love with our community.

Thanks to your generosity as a congrega-tion, we raised $29,377.50 at our Christmas Coffee-house and during the

month of December. We learned this week that $30,000 is the amount needed to build a home. So, due to your extraordi-nary efforts, our contribu-tion will help to fund the building of one tiny home.

Making a difference in the world begins with small steps and big imagi-nations. Thank you so much for believing in this project and for choosing to make a difference in the community.

As Dr. Phil Fletch-er, the Executive Director of CoHO, accepted the check, he offered thanks to our congregation. We are the first congregation in Conway to step up and ral-ly around this project. He was appreciative of our support of this vision and grateful for the ways we committed to offering a solution to homelessness in Faulkner County.

Construction on Hope Village is estimated to begin in the fall of 2020, and will be located on East Robins Street next to the CoHO office.

Formal Wear Donations Needed

The Missions Committee will be hosting its Free Formal Wear Shopping Day again this year to assist high school girls with financial needs to obtain a dress and accesso-ries for Prom.

The Shopping Day is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22, here at the church. We are in need of items for the event, so we would appreciate everyone’s continued assistance with high school-age ap-propriate formal wear dress and accessory (shoes, purses and jewelry) donations.

If you know of anyone who may have items they would like to donate, please let them know about our event.

Thank you all for your continued support of this mission event!
