At WIS, our school offers a unique structure for students to support their education through the model of a Lower, Middle and Upper School. With this, students will journey from FS1 to Year 4 in our Lower School focusing on learning through play and active learning in our bespoke ‘Learning Zones’ which help students develop their creativity, motor skills, STEM understanding and digital awareness, truly hooking and exciting them about learning and the wider world. The transition into the Middle School in Year 5 sees students developing their independence and critical thinking skills through a tailored curriculum taught by core specialist teachers, including secondary specialists who focus on enhancing the curriculum across Year 5 and Year 6, making a seamless transition into Year 7. From here, students learning skills continue to develop; GCSE skills and attributes are mapped back to fully prepare our students for when they progress into the Upper School. In 2019-20, students within our Upper School saw the highest GCSE and IB results that WIS has ever achieved; 5 students in Year 13 achieved the highest score of 45 points, which only 0.2% of students across the world achieve. At WIS, this journey to success is accelerated in Year 10 and 11, with the breadth of subjects on offer for GCSE, including Business Studies and Psychology and we pride ourselves on preparing our students for Higher Education through personalised support, learning and pathways which encourage independence, debate, and discussion. As a fully inclusive international school, enabling a first-class educational experience for students aged three to eighteen years, we ensure that all students are supported and challenged to achieve success. We recognise the uniqueness of each child through learning opportunities that promote challenge and personalised learning at all levels. A plethora of enriching learning opportunities, within and beyond the classroom, ensure that students enjoy sporting and benefit from highly creative and stimulating experiences. Visits, trips, team competitions, clubs, extra activities and an emphasis on memorable learning moments ensure high levels of engagement, which supports outstanding attainment and progress from Foundation Stage through to IB level.
