The Primary Update Winter Special December, 20th 2012 The JBS community in winter. Scarves, hats and gloves were well in evidence during the last week at school before the winter break. The primary choir were well wrapped up for their outside performance at the annual Winter Market, when we were also thrilled to have the Dubai Youth Orchestra as our special guests. The afternoon and early evening were beautifully clear after the morning downpour, which only served to freshen up the school and our newly landscaped gardens. December has seen our Primary and Secondary concerts, and some sparkling decorations as we get ready for the end of this part of the semester. And then the school falls quiet for a week or two before we all return in the New Year. Our community has grown substantially since June, with over 200 new students arriving at JBS to start in September, but what I have noticed in the last few weeks – and especially at events like the Eid Carnival, National Day and Winter market – is that our new families seem very much at home here, and it’s increasingly hard to distinguish newcomers from old hands. Once everyone returns after the winter break, it will all but be impossible, and that’s what is just a little bit special about JBS. Happy holidays, everyone, Andrew Homden

The Primary Update Winter Special

The JBS community in winter.

Scarves, hats and gloves were well in evidence during the last week at school before the winter break. Happy holidays, everyone,
