WINTER 2010 WINTER 2010

Now that the temperature has dropped you can look forward to fresh, home grown winter vegetables such as Cauliflowers, Broccoli and Snowpeas. We have a great selection in our Herb and Vegetable section which is topped up every Tuesday. Plant into the ground or pots, or try our raised garden beds for easier picking and greater drainage. Before you know it you’ll have veges bursting with flavour.

Winter loving annuals are also here including Pansies, Violas and Sweetpeas. Add a big splash of colour to your garden or pots with these quick growing plants. Ask us about appropriate fertilisers, mulch and general care for your vegetables and annuals to get the most out of them.

Fresh truly is best

Colour up your Winter

When I think of Winter I think of Camellias and one of the most impressive would have to be Marge Miller. This delightful groundcover will get to around .5 metre high and 1.5 metres wide with dense, glossy foliage on graceful, weeping branches. A prolific display of pink flowers will warm up your winter. Looks great trailing over retaining walls or pots. Fertilise with Azalea and Camellia food.

Our range of carnivorous plants are not only fascinating but a great way to help control the insect nasties. Pitcher plants, Venus Flytraps and Sundews offer a unique look for pots in a sheltered position. We also have a specially blended mix to pot into.
