JanuaryJanuaryClass ScheduleTech Talk 2010 and Beyond Over the past year I have written lots about the proper care of your BERNINA machine. Let’s start the New Year with some refresher thoughts. First - Over oiling Even though I fi nd myself constantly reminding people to oil their hooks, they can be over-oiled. BERNINA sewing machines are fi nely engineered and one drop of oil is suffi cient. Too much oil can cause tension issues, ruin fabric, and thread. Second - Serge protector Please remember that your BERNINA machine is not only an incredible sewing machine but it is also a computer. It needs to be protected just as you would protect your computer. Failing to use a serge protector can and will damage the boards in your machine causing costly repairs. We recommend Panamax serge protectors, which are available at The Sewing Palace. Third - Dull needles The rule of thumb is to change your needle every 3-5 bobbins. Dull needles cause your machine to work harder and decrease the quality of your stitches. Fourth - Poor quality thread The Sewing Palace sells high quality thread not only to enhance your every sewing project but also to protect your BERNINA investment. Poor quality thread breaks more frequently, jams machines, and leaves lint throughout the inside of your machine. Lastly - Service your machine annually The Sewing Palace services all makes and models of machines. If you want to keep you machine running in top condition is needs to be serviced every year. In servicing annually you will protect your investment and avoid costly repairs in the future. Thanks, Karri

JanuaryJanuaryClass ScheduleTech Talk 2010 and Beyond Over the past year I have written lots about the proper care of your BERNINA machine. Let’s start the New Year with some refresher thoughts. First - Over oiling Even though I fi nd myself constantly reminding people to oil their hooks, they can be over-oiled. BERNINA sewing machines are fi nely engineered and one drop of oil is suffi cient. Too much oil can cause tension issues, ruin fabric, and thread. Second - Serge protector Please remember that your BERNINA machine is not only an incredible sewing machine but it is also a computer. It needs to be protected just as you would protect your computer. Failing to use a serge protector can and will damage the boards in your machine causing costly repairs. We recommend Panamax serge protectors, which are available at The Sewing Palace. Third - Dull needles The rule of thumb is to change your needle every 3-5 bobbins. Dull needles cause your machine to work harder and decrease the quality of your stitches. Fourth - Poor quality thread The Sewing Palace sells high quality thread not only to enhance your every sewing project but also to protect your BERNINA investment. Poor quality thread breaks more frequently, jams machines, and leaves lint throughout the inside of your machine. Lastly - Service your machine annually The Sewing Palace services all makes and models of machines. If you want to keep you machine running in top condition is needs to be serviced every year.
