CHECK THIS OUT! Annabel Clayton and Madelyn Dinkins, students in the AHS Teacher Academy

Program, are working together on a project for the Educators Rising state and national competition in the Researching Learning Challenges category. As part of their research, they interviewed Kelsey Campbell and Zane Beineke, students in the Transition to Work Program at AHS. Kelsey and Zane shared how their involvement in the work study program is preparing them to get a competitive

job after high school and how it will prepare them to support themselves, live on their own someday and be contributing members of their community. How cool is THIS!!?

FHSD TOWN HALL MEETING: The Forest Hills School District cordially invites Anderson Township Community members to its December 10, 2018 Town Hall Meeting to discuss the need for a 2019 operating levy. The event will be held in the Turpin High School Auditorium at 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM. Immediately following the meeting building tours will be conducted, providing an opportunity for those in attendance to see the newly renovated Turpin High School. QUARTER 2 INTERIM INFORMATION: Friday, December 7, 2018 marks our halfway point for the second quarter marking period. This is a good time to check your child’s academic progress on Progress Book. As always, if you have concerns or questions regarding your son/daughter’s grades, please reach out to their teacher for information and possible ways to support your child’s academic success from home. WEIGHTED COURSE INFORMATION: Quarter GPA's have always been (and will continue to be) calculated without any added weight for advanced level classes (ex. Honors, Pre-AP, AP, etc.). Weights are only applied to semester grades and only semester grades are counted in a student's Cumulative GPA. Anderson and Turpin High Schools utilize a 4.0 grading scale; Weighted Cumulative GPA's will, from this year forward, be calculated with an additional 1.0 point for AP/CCP courses (for a potential 5.0), and an additional 0.5 point for Honors/Pre-AP courses (for a potential 4.5). Honor Roll is the only academic honor awarded at the quarter and is based strictly on unweighted quarter grades. For more information regarding Weighted Courses, please visit the following link on our website: FHSD Weighted Course Information.

AHS QUARTER 1 HONOR ROLL: Congratulations to all students achieving Honor Roll distinction for Quarter 1 of this school year. A complete list of names can be found on the Honor Roll Board in the Mike Hall Way or by clicking on the following link: Q1 Honor Roll.
