“Every service transition is an opportunity to modernize your infrastructure and improve the user experience,” said Mike Burke from VDX and the migration from Windows XP to Windows 7 was a revelation for the team at Sterling Bank. The standardization and automation John Ferrini and his team have put in place continues to help them deliver applications faster every day and they are already planning for Windows 8.1. “It initially took 30 days to package an application and move it into our test environment” said John, “at the end of the first migration, we were able to get that down to only 3 days, and after the second migration it was even faster”. The bank has also done a few acquisitions and each time a new business is absorbed, the migration of users and systems goes smoother and faster.
