• Cores and the Generations:

• Core refer to the number of processing units available, like dual

and core 2 duo, quad core, etc…

• Generation difference typically with Intel processors have

difference in terms of performance, integrated graphics and clock

speeds.

• Overclock to improve the speed

• Random Access Memory to improve effective

access time

• If your budget permits buy at least 4GB RAM

(again this will be obsolete within a couple of

years)

• You can view memory usage from Windows Task

Manager and close applications that

• You may even change the size of virtual memory

if you are running many applications at a time.

• For this go to “Computer”

• Right click -> Properties -> Advanced System Settings

(left pane) -> Advanced Tab -> Settings -> Advanced ->

Change

• Clear temp files often

• To do so

• Go to run menu (WINDOWS + R) or from start menu

• Type temp and press enter

• Select and delete all files

• Do similar for %temp% by following the same steps.

• However you can use CCleaner which is a good

tool to clean up all the junk content on your

disk.

A simple RAM chip looks like this

• Lets take a look at overclocking.

• Overclocking is the process of making

a computer or component operate faster than

the clock frequency specified by the

manufacturer by modifying system parameters

(hence the name "overclocking").

• The trade-offs are an increase in power

consumption and fan noise, the system can

become unstable if the equipment is

overclocked too much, and the risk of damage

due to excessive overvoltage or heat

generation.

• DISCLAIMER : PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS UNTIL YOU

ARE FULLY AWARE OF THE CONSEQUENCES !!!• Firstly you need to check for support for overclocking by

your motherboard

• Not a good choice with laptops due to component

spacing

• Fsb freqn, voltage,

• Video converting, gaming, ram overclocking

• Ssb caching

• Go to BIOS settings. During booting, keep pressing F8/F2/ delete depending on the make of your system.

• Start by changing the FSB frequency slowly (restart after every increase)

• CPU clock ratio/mulipliercan be increased for a steep increase but not advisable

• Increase your voltage level too. This will enable your components to function just fine

• Finally use tools like PRIME 95 and CPU-Z.

• PRIME 95 will stress test your CPU (say for 12 hours), if no error exists then you may go ahead and increase FSB further, but if some exception is thrown you will have to re-stratergize.

• CPU-Z will display Computer status after it has been overclocked.

• Applied by professionals in fields like video/image editing

• Go for SSD while buying a new PC. It is definitely the

future.

• Use power saver whenever possible. Reducing

brightness will save power/battery and your eyes !!!

• You may have multiple OS on your machine. This is

known as dual booting wherein during booting , you shall

be given the choice.

• Go for a linux flavour and windows to get advantages of

both.

• Also known as Bootsplash

• Bootsplash is a term for a graphical representation of the

boot process of the operating system.

• File which is responsible boot up screen is “bootres.dll “

• It resides at “C:\Windows\Boot\Resources”

• Replace this file with custom bootres.dll.

• How to create custom bootres.dll file ?

• Add Any Application to the

Windows Desktop Right-Click

Menu

• Create a Context Menu Item to

Copy a Text File To the Clipboard

• Enable More Fonts for the

Windows Command Prompt

• Remove or Hide Unwanted Items

From the Control Panel

• Press windows key + R

• Press regedit and press enter

• Choose proper path and find proper key

• Modify/add/delete required key

• Restart your pc

• To Create virus

• Deletes system files and crash O.S

• Continuously eject cd drive

• Maintain Personal Log with Notepad

• Open Multiple Programs by pressing single key

Computer Viruses have always raised the anxiety

of people ever since they came into the picture.

When you were a child you might have heard the

saying:

“PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE”.

That’s precisely what I advice you to do.

As you might be aware computer viruses don't

forge a problem in Linux OS as they do in

windows.

Firstly the trick with viruses is NOT to let them

execute under any circumstances.

Start by configuring a windows option called

autoplay.

Go to control panel and open the autoplay option.

Uncheck the [_] Use Autoplay for all media

devices option and select Take no action for each

and every thing. Save you changes.

That’s it next time you plug in a random pen drive

you don’t have to worry about viruses.

With autoplay configured your virus wont exeute.

But what about the harm already done to your

pendrive ?

Basically you’ll need to delete the virus files by

unlocking their system lock attributes.

The command used is:

>attrib –s –h file/folder name

Various options can be used with it known by:

>attrib /?

You Have Hotspot ON in your mobile. And you

can use that internet in your laptop by connecting

to that hotspot.

The question is can you share that internet again

through your laptop ?

Yes you can.

Set the network details:

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow

ssid=YourVirtualNetworkName key=YourNetworkPas

sword

Start the Wireless Hosted Network:

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

To stop the Wireless Hosted Network:

netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

To see the Wireless Hosted Network details, including

the MAC addresses of connected users:

netsh wlan show hostednetwork
