BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua)-- China's first 1.5 megawatt (1, 500 kW) wind-power generator withcompletely independent intellectual property rights has rolled off the assembly line in thesouthern Guangdong province. The price was at least 20 percent lower than similarimported products or those manufactured by joint ventures, said the Guangdong MingyangWind Power Technology Co., Ltd.
The generator was designed for China's climate and is resistant to typhoons, sand stormsand extremely low temperatures. The technologies of the generator have been certified byGL Germanischer Lloyd, according to the company.
The company has received orders for 250,000 kw of its wind power generators valued at 1.6billion yuan (210.5 million U.S. dollars), said Zhang Chuanwei, chairman of the the parentcompany Guangdong Mingyang Electric Group Co., Ltd.
He said that company's annual production capacity ofwind power generators will rise from the current 450units to 1,000 units by 2010.
China's wind power resource exceeds one billionkilowatts, according to official estimates.

� Long turbine rotor blade design (37.5m for MY 1.5S and 40.25 for MY 1.5Se)helps to increase swept areas in comparison to the traditional design. Andoptimization of blade aerodynamics could increase power output up to 10%more under low wind speed condition.
� The wind turbine uses two bearings to support the main shaft to drive train. Thegearbox only bears the torque load, the thrust load or random impact from the

rotor is reduced significantly, and this leads to a long gear box life and betterreliability.
� The internal tooth structure is chosen for yaw rotation to prevent sand dust andsalt mists from entering, thus the working condition of the yaw system isimproved.
� The pressurized internal design: internal pressure in nacelle is higher than theexternal barometric pressure. Filtered air intake ensures the good air quality innacelle, which extends the life span of the components in nacelle (Optional).
