Deforestation - climate change; loss of bio-diversity Transport costs; carbon emissions from vehicles Energy and water loss during manufacturing process Air emissions during manufacturing process Bleaching / chemicals – risk of contamination/pollution If used single sided – can double above effects Disposal of paper to landfill? Costs? – economically viable for business? Social aspects - bought locally; workers’ conditions abroad?

How can these impacts be reduced

Buy 100% recycled paper Use tendering process to buy from more local company with good sustainability

credentials Ensure minimisation of use – double sided printing! Recycle once used

Buy locally, improve local economy, reduce transport costs and emissions Use tendering process to buy from more local company with good

sustainability credentials Use tap water! Recycle glass/plastic bottles once used
