• WiMAX uses EAP for authentication and key distribution

• WiMAX four parts EAP model

•  ASN GW roles:•  Authenticator – to block or accept user traffic according to user’s right. 

• Key Distributor - a key holder for both MSK and PMK resulting from an EAP exchange. Itderives AK and creates AKID for an <MSS, BS> pair and distributes the AK to the KeyReceiver in a BS via an AK Transfer protocol.
