WARNER & CO.’S SUPERIOR

SOLUBLE COATED PILLS,OFFICINAL,

AND FROM RECIPES OF

EMINENT MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS,MANUFACTURED BY

WILLIAM R. WARNER & CO,PHILADELPHIA AND NEWYORK.

WARNER AND CO.’S Pills are unequalled in theirmedicinal qualities, as the best materials enter into theircomposition and the utmost care is used in their manufac-ture. An experience of twenty-eight years, with careful at-tentionand study of this branch, enablesus to achieve resultsotherwiseunattainable.

We claim the art of Sugar-Coating,which, while remain-ing permanent, avoids drying the mass so hard as to renderit insoluble and inert.

Skilful preparationand the scientific method ofmanufac-ture, which we do not hesitate to call our own, are recognizedin the acknowledged success attained. We wishparticularlyto state that our pills will produce the effects expected, andour desire is that Physicians shall be able to realize this intheir practice; hence, to avoid inferior brands, we requestthat you will specify WARNER & CO.’S when ordering orprescribing.

The following list of Sugar-Coated Pills comprises a va-riety ofcombinations of great value. The CONVENIENCEOP THIS FORM of medicine, besides other advantages, will, we trust, be fully appreciated.

The following prices for Pills are subject to the largest discount.

PARVULESALE] IN, Parv. 1-10 gr.

Med. Prop.—A most desirable Cathartic. The most useful application of these Parvules is in periodic irregulari-

ties—Dysmenorrhcea and Aramenorrhoea. They shouldbe given in doses ofone or two every evening at and about the expected time.

Dose. —4 to 6at once. This number of Parvules taken at any time, will be found to exert an easy, prompt and ample cathartic effect, unattendedwith nausea, and in all respects furnishing the most desirable aperient andcathartic preparation in use. For habitual constipation, they replace whentaken in single parvules, the various medicated waters, avoiding the quantityrequired by the latter as a dose, which fills the stomach and deranges thedigestiveorgans.

CALDMELj Parv. 1-2□ gr.Med. Prop. Purgative.

Dose. —i to 2 every hour. Two Parvules of Calomel, taken everyhour, until five or six doses are administered, (which will comprise but halfa grain),produce an activity of the liver, which will be followed by bilious dejectionsand beneficial effects, that twenty grains of Blue Mass or ten grains of Calomelrarely cause, and sickness of the stomach does not usually follow.

PQI3DPHYLLIN, Parv. 1-40 gr.Med. Prop.—Cathartic, Cholagogue.

Two Parvules of Podophyllin, administered three times a day will re-establish and regulate the peristaltic action and relieve habitual constipationadd tone to the liver, and invigorate the digestive functions.

THE GREAT GERMICIDE.

Corros. Sublimate, Parv. MOO grMed. Prop.—An Alterative and Germicide.

Recently, Corros. Sub., in small doses, has been administeredwith mostgratifying results in certain forms of Chronic Dyspepsia.

Dos.—One Parvule, repeated according to the age or nature of the dis-ease. Riuger and other eminent therapeutists extol very highly i-ioo gr. indysentery of children, regarding it as almost as specific.

PREPARD ONLY BY

WILLIAM R. WARNER & CO.Gentlemen:—

Although a practitioner of over forty years, I think I may feel privilegedtoexpress my great pleasure and appreciation of the newclass of remedies pre-pared by you, called “Parvules,” Iregard them the greatest improvement inmodern medicine, and I could scarcely practice my profession without them, asthey are so handy, so convenient and easily taken by children and adults,Their most important quality is their unvarying and reliable strength andefficacy. 1 can obtain with a grain or less of Calomel, with a grain or less ofAloin, and with a grain or less of Podophyllin, divided respectively into thetenth, twentieth, or fortieth ofa grain, in “ Parvules,” all that 1 could desirein most cases, and in a more satisfactory manner than in the usual form. 1have used successfully a “Parvul” of one-fiftieth ofa grain of Sulph. Mor-phia repeatedly for two or three hours, and have relieved pain without theleast nausea or vomiting in patients that could not bear opiates in any otherform; I do not know what to attribute this to, except the peculiar mode ofpreparing the “ Pakvuls,” as they are soreadily dissolved and absorbed afterbeing taken, and in indorsing them I must disclaim any favoritism or sympathywith Homoepathy; a Parvule givenevery hourit will be seen is not Homoepathy,in theory or practice. I usuallygive two Parvules of Calomel every hour untilsix or seven doses are taken, and the result is the same as with ten grains ofthe same, without the embarrassing effect. I give four or five Parvules ofAloin, the effect is the same as four or five Cathartic Pills, also with the Podo-phyllin Parvules: they will relieve habitual constipation, derangement of theliver and digestive organs, if given, one two or three times a day.

(1 have nodoubt that every practitioner who will use these “Parvuls’will find the same results which convinced me of their importance and con-venience. Ihave no other medicine chest in mydaily rounds, than mypocketcase of Parvules.

Yours very truly, GEORGE P. REX, M. D.,To Messrs. Wm. R. Warner &• Co. Reaville, N. J.

LIQUIO

PANGREOPEPSINE•DIGESTIVE FLUID.)

This Preparation contains in anagreeable form the naturaland assimilative principles of the digestive fluid of the stom-ach, comprising Pancreatine, Pepsin, Lactic and MuriaticAcids. The best means of re-establishing digestion in enfeebledstomachs, where the power to assimilate and digest food isimpaired, is to administer principles capable of communicatingthe elements necessary to convert the food into nutriment.

The value of Liquid Pancreopepsine in this connectionhas been fully established, and we can recommend it with con-fidence to the Medical Profession as superior to Pepsin alone. It aids in digesting animal and vegetable cooked food, fattyand amylaceous substances, and may be employed in all caseswhere, from prolonged sickness or other causes, the alimentaryprocesses are not in their normal condition.

“ I am pleased to be able to chronicle the fact that in threecases of pronounced atonic dyspepsia and in one case of chronicindigestion it has acted like a charm—promptly relieving alldisagreeable symptoms and restoring the stomach to its properfunctions. My patients, who had previously tried withoutbenefit all ordinary forms of pepsin, bismuth, cerium, nuxvomica, etc., etc., are delighted with this new remedy, andassure me that they experienced benefit from the first dose.Hereafter I shall prescribe it liberally and with great confi-dence in its therapeutic value.”

TABES-MESENTERIC DISEASE.1, Elder Square, Newcastle-on-Tyne, England, October 31st, 1389.

Dear Sirs:—Will you have the kindness toinform me ifyou have an Agentin this town for WARNER’S INGLUVIN, as I shall most likely prescribe itfrom time to time, in order to give ita more extended trial. X was much grati-fied with itsaction ina distressing cuse of Tabes-Mesenteric Disease. I had nodifficultyin bringing the pain under subjection by opiates, etc., but in the vom-iting, emaciation, and disordered condition of the bowels, there wasno improve-ment. Finding a sample box of INGLUVINupon my consulting table, (and forwhich accept my thanks, for I firmly believe that the powder saved my littlepatient’s life,) I gave the mother the box containing a dozen powders, request-ing her to divide one into three, and administer one twice daily. The pain dis-appeared, the vomiting ceased, flesh was rapidly put on, and in the short spaceofa fortnight (the patient previously under treatment for six weeks,) was con-valescentand completely recovered, (aged ‘2}4 years).

Believe me, yours faithfully,ANTHONY BELL, L. R. C. P.Ed., M. R. C. S. Eng., L. 3. A.etc.
