At the beginning of this music video, it starts off slow as it builds up the intensity and then introduces the characters in the music video. The non-diegetic sound is slow and soft with a touch of glee about it. The still shot shows a couple called ‘Paul & Dana’ with a sub heading featuring in the music video. The genre of this music video is ‘Pop’.

We get the impression that this couple are a middle class family who live in a council state flat with a average life of living. The male in this relationship is dressed as a cool, trendy, smart and casual character whereas the female is dressed with a bit of skin showing but appropriate and smart. Moreover, we get the impression that this couple is average couple with a basic way of living. They have been dating for 5 years which shows that their relationship is strong and stable.

The sub heading throughout this music video is really effective as it shows how the couple have built their relationship in 5 years. This will entice the audience as it is a common theme for everyone to settle down and fall in love so the audience can relate to this convention. The non-diegetic sound has gradually increased its intensity and is now loud and funky which engages the audience. This image shows that the couple is extremely active and social as they travel a lot. The cities they have visited are all popular and expensive, the city Ibiza shows that they party a lot and love the party lifestyle.

The ‘58 gigs’ the couple have visited in 5 years shows that on average they attend 32 gigs a year which suggest that they are socially active and love there music. This will entice the target audience as they can probably relate.

The close up shot portrays the couple sleeping alone, however they both feel as if they are together due to the instant connection they have through a video call. This suggest that they can’t sleep alone and need each other by their side. It also depicts the love they both have for each other. 23 nights alone in 5 years shows that they have nearly always been together and cant let go of each other.

These sub headings suggest that the couple are sexually active and are passionate about their love. This music videos target audience is perhaps the same age as these characters are, somewhere between the ages of 23-28 years old, this shows that the target audience is mature and can relate to the couple’s activities.

The mid shot shows that the couple have smoked a combined total of 1,962 cigarettes. This could suggest that they are either addicted to smoking and regular smokers or they feel stressed and take a cigarette once in a while.
