The IdeaChristopher Porter worked in the public

aquarium industry for over 21 years.Through his work providing a livealternative to dolphin hunters in the

Solomon Islands, he became one of the mostcontroversial dolphin suppliers in the world.

In 2010 he created Free The Pod, a program designedto challenge both the aquarium industry and the

animal activist organizations to work together torelease 17 dolphins back into the wild.

Facing scepticism from both sides, the project wasnot a success. Despite this his passion to work inengaging the general public to build a better wild wasnot diminished.

Wild Captivation is his idea to entertain, educate andprovide a viable tool of conservation for wild animalswithout keeping them captive.

CaptivitTillikum, a male orca, has spent 28 yearsof his life in captivity. He has beenresponsible for 3 human deaths.Something that is unheard of in thewild.

Christopher Porter trained Tillikum 21 years ago in Victoria,

B.C. His attack on one of his trainers in February 2010,solidified his change of heart to move away from the captiveindustry.

Porter states , Tillikum is not a killer, he reacts as many of uswould in a life of limited choices and forced structure. I alwaysthought his sacrifice was to help wild killer whales. Finding outkiler whales are starving off the coasts of B.C. and WashingtonState shows me his sacrifice is not helping wild animals.

Protests of Animal Captivity continuesto increase around the world.

The public is looking for an evolutionof Killer Whales behind glass.
