This year Wide Hollow will be hosting an event called Trunk-or-Treat. We are in need of adults to open their trunks to our students and
pass out candy. If you are able to help us, please fill out the bottom portion and send this back to school with your child. The more trunks, the more fun for our kids. There will also be a prize for the best decorated/original trunk, car, or truck bed.
When: October 28th Time: 6:00-7:00 pm
Trunks will need to show between 5:15-5:45 in order to get set up for trunk or treaters and be available until 7:00pm. Some candy will be provided by PTA, but we ask that you bring a little yourself to give out too.
———————————return bottom portion——————————
_____I would like to have a reserved spot to help in this years Trunk-
We are looking for candy donations for this event. We would appreciate any bag of candy that you can send to school. Please place your child’s name, teacher, and grade level on each bag that you send. During school on Octo-ber 28th we will be pulling bags with names for door prizes. Please send to school no later than October 28th.
MILEAGE CLUB As of 9-29-16
Here are the 1st class totals! Encourage your students to do 4 laps a day so they will reach the 50 mile club and get a free T-Shirt.
Mileage Club is every Wednesday and Friday during lunch recess (12:10-12:40). Parents are invited to come out and run/walk with their children. Every student with 50 miles by the end of the year will earn a t-shirt and those who have run 100 miles earn a sweatshirt. Come help us cheer on our Wide Hollow Cubs as they work towards these goals!
Parent volunteers and participates need to have their back-ground checks completed before they are able to join their students for recess.
It is a fun jump rope event that will be held during conference week. If you decide to join in the fun, you will be eating lunch at school. At 12:10 p.m., participating students will go outside for recess and come back inside at 12:40 p.m. Make sure to take everything (as if you were going home), when you leave the classroom at 12:10 p.m. At 12:40 p.m., participating students will not be able to re-enter the building through their classroom. if they want a hot lunch. We have to call in our daily lunch count
by then each morning. If you don’t call your child’s lunch in by 9:15
am, somebody might not get a lunch (it’s usually the 4th graders since they get lunch last). If
parents are having lunch with their child you will need to use money in their account and
remember to call in before 9:15 am. We no longer accept cash at the building.

1. Click on Apps, then click on the Play Store
2. In the store click on Apps then search “SharpSchool” and install
the App.
This App is great! Set it up for any

WASHINGTON AUTISM ALLIANCE AND ADVOCACY
Autism 200 Series
Autism 200 Series
Autism 200 is a series of free 90-minute classes for parents and caregivers of children with autism who wish to better
understand this disorder. Community providers are also welcome to attend. Faculty from Seattle Children’s and the
University of Washington and community providers teach the classes. Each class includes time for questions.
Parent to Parent, in partnership with Washington Autism Alliance and Advocacy (WAAA), will be offering Autism 200
classes each third Thursday, monthly (with the exception of December) at Children’s Village. We will be partici-
pating in the class via teleconferencing with Seattle Children’s Hospital. Topics will vary from month to month.
November’s class will be:
Autism 211: In Our Own Words: A panel of Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder
November 17, 2016 @ 7-8:30 pm, Facilitator: Gary Stobbe, MD
Children’s Village Host: Erin Deery, WAAA
Childcare is available to parents and caregivers only. Please call Stacy at 509-574-3255 to reserve childcare.
(Childcare is for children 1-12 years old).
Please note: The Autism Support Group also meets each third Thursday, monthly, at Children’s Village (from 6-
8:00 pm). This group is for parents and caregivers only. We ask that parents/caregivers choose which group they
would like to attend each month, as it would be disruptive to try to attend both.
