SewWhatEver

JANUARY THEME:COZY TOESIES

Charisma Boot Slippers PT 1 January 9 (FRIDAY) 5:30pm-MidnightTeacher: Annette Houston

We are on a mission to help you keep your tootsies warm this win-ter. Instead of SewWhatEver on a school night, we have changed it to a Friday night. We also lengthened the hours to give you the oppor-tunity to accomplish this feat for your feet. We have brought back Lila Tueller’s popular boot for just such a purpose. These boots are incredibly comfy and warm and lined with Cuddle Fleece. The pattern offers options such as lined and unlined, the use of multiple fabrics, or an outer shell of one fabric. With a bottom layer of Jiffy Grip, these slipper-boots are great for in-door and outdoor use. To ensure your ability to successfully complete your task, we have extended this class to a second week. Come join us where we always have fun.

Charisma Boot Slippers PT 2 January 15 Time 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.Teacher: Annette Houston

“Suede Slippers” for AdultsJanuary 22 Teacher: Annette Houston Now there really is no reason not to keep your tootsies warm this winter. These super soft and snug-gly slippers are quick and easy to make. They come in four sizes for adults: Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. They are made to feature two-sided fabrics such as suede on one side and soft fur on the other. This fabric never frays, which means you don’t have to worry about finishing the raw edges, which means this pattern really is quick and easy! We will be incorporating the use of our Patchwork Foot #37, #57 with guide, or our NEW Foot #97D for 9mm machines.

Bench Pillow Form January 29 Teacher: Toni Hall

Come have “cre-ative” fun mak-ing bench pillow covers that help celebrate each month. In the first class, we will make our pillow form that is meant for these bench pillows.

THURSDAY NIGHTS 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Every Thursday night from 5:30 to 8:30 is Ladies Night Out! Bring a UFO or do the project that we have planned that night. Either way, we will be there to teach and help you in any way we can. The cost is only $10. With refresh-ments and ladies that share the same love of sewing, you’ll be sure to have a good time. Our SewWhatEver Block of the Month is bench pillows by Kimberbell. We’ll be having two classes for this project. It’ll be the last two Thurs-days of each month unless specified.

Class fee: $10 (supplies not included but refreshments are!)

APRIL THEME: “HELLO … PINTEREST!”

April Showers brings May Flowers April 2 Teacher: Annette Houston

You know the old saying, “April showers bring May flowers”? This adorable little quilt is springing forth with everything from show-ers to flowers. Kim Schaefer’s April quilt includes the unique idea of placing applique pieces on the top of a patchwork base. The base is made with a sky-colored background and bordered with all the colors of the rainbow. Then the creativity begins as you heat-fuse the applique pieces in place. We will be brushing up on our skills using feet #37/57, 20, 9 or BSR, 12, 18, 10, and 55. When we get finished, you will be more than ready to grab your rain boots and head out for some puddle jumping. Don’t forget your umbrella!

Car Trash Bag April 9 Teacher: Maudie Borget

Whose car doesn’t get dirty? Well I found the perfect solution for this problem. I came across this wonderful pattern on Pinter-est (www.a-ditchin-time-quilts.blogspot.com) to make cute trash bags for your car, so no more using plastic bags. This is a more stylish way to keep your trash tidy. There are so many ways of making this, from laminating your own fabric or using minkee if you really like fluff to just using regular quilting fabric. You can also use all sorts of embellishments to give it that extra touch! You’ll find this so easy to make that you’ll want to make one for all your friends.
