We have to believe in our outputs,have genuine pride and dignity in the tag ‘Made in Bangladesh’. It is our corporate socialresponsibility to brand Bangladesh as the country of immense ICT possibilities.
• The man hour costs for BD services is 30% of the costs in the US or Europe. Much lower than our neighboring countries.
• Spill over work and direct orders are already being carried out by some potential local IT leaders. Already jobs are being off-shored

• Bangladesh’s capabilities in outsourcing provide a low-risk, flexible and competitive solution to allow organizations to leverage off the economies of scale and worldwide skills that would not otherwise be available to them.
Like any typical ICT services industry, outsourcing BPO is a skilled manpower focused service industry. The services are expected to be critical, crucial and complex (highly technical). Also most of the services call for deployment of manpower on 24x7x365 basis. Bangladesh should prepare itself to move to a positional advantage and establish its position ahead of its competition.
This can only be achieved by developing necessary human resources to handle the job. This aids in initiating the process of setting educational institutes to train and qualify professionals in huge numbers to handle the outsourcing ICT business. With Special focus for language training.

Unless Bangladesh achieves this goal of developing required manpower at a brisk pace, it’s positional advantage it has over other countries like India in terms of infrastructure and other resources shall be lost.
In order to make an entry in a big way into this Vertical, Bangladesh should have at least about 10 lacs trained and certified people in the Infrastructure Management Services spanning all the areas as mentioned above

procurement of land, electricity, gas and sewerage connection, importation of capital machinery and raw materials, tax rebate, duty drawback facilities etc., industries need only to be registered with the Board of Investment (BOI) in a simple prescribed from

Another major requirement of outsourcing and BPO in Bangladesh is good
communication skills in English. Both private and Government initiatives areneeded to set up adequate institutions to impart the necessary skills withapproved certification.
It is proposed to set up theInstitutes/Centers in Bangladesh, whichwould impart the necessarytechnical/ICT skills combined withproficiency in English. This overallproficiency should conform toacknowledged international standardsof Certification.

If we ensure ICT literacy growth rate this will increase country’s GDP growth.Bangladesh has the potential to take substantial market share in ICT/BPO if we canmake the right beginning.
