G. LAND USE CONVERSIONS Land acquired or developed with POS grant assistance may not be used for any purpose other than public recreation or public open space and will be restricted to such uses by covenants in the deed to the property. Prior approval from the Secretaries of the Departments of Natural Resources, Budget and Management, and State Planning is required before any acquisition or development sites may be converted to any other use. The local governing body of a county or municipal corporation responsible for a proposed conversion of use must immediately contact POS when a conversion is proposed [POS Law, Section 5-906 (e) 7]. New HS #13 Site Selection– Site Considerations – Distance and Time Traveled
2017-2018 Route Time*
*Actual average bus route time. All HS trips are for all 12 attendance areas.
Either Troy Park or Mission Road is a shorter distance from the furthest point that currently attend Howard HS (Furnace Ave & Race Rd)
• Troy Park approx. 3.6 mi (apprx. 12 min by car)
• Mission Rd approx. 7.6 mi (apprx. 26 min by car)
New HS #13 Site Selection– Site Considerations – Hypothetical Redistricting
Mission Road Site• All TVMS boundary• Portion of ELMS
Troy Park Site• All ELMS• Portion of TVMS
The following criteria to develop the potential redistricting scenarios:• Target Utilization (90% - 110%), per Policy 6010;• HS #13 with 1,615 seats; and• Proposed HaHS addition (+200 seats).
DOES NOT INCLUDE CAPACITIES FURTHER WEST!Should not be considered a redistricting “plan.” Answers only the question raised “can either site be filled.”
