button not working?
Installation of any software is possible when there is a good internet connection.
And the most necessary thing is to have an official website for that app or
software. The same goes with McAfee antivirus as you will need to have a good
network and official website. In case, if the download button is not working then,
you won’t be able to install it on your device. There are some reasons
behind McAfee website download button not working so, follow the fixings to get
rid of it immediately.
To install this antivirus, you have to first download the installation setup file from
mcafee.com (official website). When you download that setup file, double-click on
the installed folder, and after that follow the prompts when it gets installed. But if
the download button is not working then, you will need to follow a few steps to
get rid of it.
Download Not Working
There are some basic things which you should check as they might be behind
this issue. Let’s move ahead with that.
Check Network Connectivity
The first thing you should check is the internet connection. As we already have
discussed that downloading procedure requires a good network and if there is a
lack of it then, it won’t work. For that, open a new tab on the browser and search
for anything else. If that tab is also not working then, you should immediately
contact the network operator.
The Website Is Not Reliable
There might be a possibility that you have visited a fake website that also has the
same structure that McAfee has. Well, in that you should check the website has
“HTTPS” in the URL bar with the website domain. Viruses or malware developer
basically takes the help of an antivirus software website name to create a fake
website. But always remember that a reliable website has SSL (HTTPS) and if
someone doesn’t have that then, close that website immediately.
These are the basic thing that you can try and if still there is an issue with the
download button then, you will need to move ahead with some other fixings.
Delete Cookies And Temp Files
On Chrome
• Click in the Menu icon from the upper-right corner
• There you have to click on More Tools and click on Clear Browsing Data
In the Clear browsing data domain, you should choose-
• Download and browse the history
• Cookies and other site data
• Cached files and images
• After that, close Chrome and reopen it again
If you use a different browser
You should check for the same section from the Settings, Tools, or More option
• Remove cookies and website data
• Close and then, restart the browser again
Fake McAfee Website
There are some types of malware that block access to trusted security websites
like home.mcafee.com to stop you from installing or from updating security
software.
Malware commonly sends your browser to a different website or shows a blank
page. If either of these errors happens, your device might be infected.
In such a case, you can run the McAfee GetSusp tool that checks the PC for
suspicious files and malware as well
• Go to the McAfee GetSusp product page
• There you have to click on Download GetSusp
• Now, click on Download Now
• If you have downloaded GetSusp on a different PC then-
• Copy the GetSusp.exe file from the PC to USB
• Plug the memory stick into the PC which you think is infected
• After that, double-click GetSusp.exe and click on Yes when the Windows
security prompts
• There you have to choose Scan Now from the prompts on License Agreement
screen
• Then, go to the I accept the agreement and click on Ok
GetSusp will then scan your PC and if there is any suspicious file submitted to
McAfee then, it will definitely let you know to take immediate action.
Now, again try to download the McAfee Installations setup file from the official
website. Now the download button should start working. Always make sure to
use the official website to install such security software or any of the products.
Never click on any link from an unknown website or source because malware
developer creates such websites to get access to your website.
