The Soap Kitchen is owned by Richard and Lesley Phillips and started in 2000 as small family run soap supplier making quality cold process soaps from pure and natural ingredients.

Richard explains: “Over time we developed our own unique recipes as a result of lengthy experimentation which originally took place in the kitchen of our family home.

These days, with our new larger premises in Bideford, North Devon, we are better placed than ever to meet the needs of our customers. We’ve moved on from the kitchen table and now have our fabulous Creative Suite where we carry out all our manufacturing and design work.

We specialise in making natural handmade toiletries that are SLS, SLES, MIT and paraben-free, our products are not tested on animals – unless you count family and staff members.”

Cold Process Soap Cold Process SoapOur cold process soap is handmade using pure vegetable oils. Our base oils in every bar are olive (pomace) oil, coconut oil and responsibly sourced palm oil (RSPO), which produce a mild and moisturising block of soap.

Our blocks are then hand cut into bars and cured for approximately 6 weeks. The bars of soap are available either unwrapped or wrapped in Fair Trade handmade gift wrap (colours and patterns of wrap may vary).

Seasonal soaps will be offered throughout the year, please contact us for more information.All our soaps are vegetarian and most are vegan-friendly too.

Available in the following sizes

• 5kg blocks - each block measures approximately 275mm x 250mm x 75mm and weighs 5Kg before curing • 75g bars - available unwrapped or hand-

wrapped in Fair Trade, handmade gift wrap (colours and patterns of wrap may vary)

• Guest soaps - our full range of soaps in smaller 15-20g bars (approx.)

• Honey & Oatmeal - contains natural honey which lends colour as well as antimicrobial

properties and it has added flaked oats for texture and gentle exfoliation• Lavender & Snowberry - a modern take on our

bestselling french lavender, a pale lilac coloured bar with lavender top notes and an underlying hint of floral snowberry, a member of the

honeysuckle family• Lime Flower & Fig - finished in a gentle green

Foaming Wash

Foaming WashDesigned to complement our natural soap range our foaming wash is made from high quality natural ingredients, it has rich foaming lather that conditions the skin at its natural pH level. We hand make our foam wash with carefully chosen essential and fragrance oils to produce a mild cleansing wash that can also be used as body, facial or hand wash. Alternatively pour under running water for a luxurious foaming bath. The Soap Kitchen foam wash contains no SLS or SLES and is MIT and paraben-free.

• 200ml PET bottles with black disc top closures - available with our own label, or unlabelled so you can personalise with your own.

ShampooLike our foaming wash The Soap Kitchen shampoos are made from naturally derived materials. We hand make our shampoos with carefully chosen essential and fragrance oils to produce a mild and gentle cleansing shampoo that contains no SLS or SLES and is MIT and paraben-free.

ConditionerWe have designed our conditioners to complement our shampoo range, made with conditioning oils like coconut, argan and sweet almond it also contains moisturising jojoba oil, shea butter and pro vitamin B5 with added antioxidant vitamin e, SLS or SLES, MIT and paraben-free.

Moisturising CreamsOur moisturising creams are made with a base of sunflower oil and cold pressed borage seed oil, (starflower oil) which is extremely rich in gamma-linolenic acid (an essential fatty acid) also known as vitamin f. The cream also contains sweet almond oil, aloe vera, vitamin e and extracts of chamomile, ginseng, comfrey leaf and lavender. The light moisturising cream is suitable for hands, face and body and is MIT and paraben-free.

Bath CrystalsOur colour-free bath crystals are made using coarse grained natural sea salt containing minerals magnesium and calcium mixed with a little epsom salts and scented with natural essential oils.

A soak in a salt bath is said to draw toxins and heavy metals from the tissues, the essential trace minerals your body needs are absorbed through the skin to enhance your health and a salt water bath can help to relieve muscular aches and pains as well as sore joints.

Bath BombsOur range of bath bombs are designed to mix and match with our other handmade toiletries. They are handmade with a mix of sodium bicarbonate and citric acid, then shaped in ‘The Soap Kitchen’ designed bath bomb moulds. Each bath bomb weighs 55-60g (approx.) and is a 2” (50mm) sphere.

Shaving SoapWe produce a traditional creamy white shaving soap which gives a rich lather and contains skin conditioners for the very best shaving experience.

• Orange & Cedarwood - blended essential oils of sweet orange and atlas cedarwood give this a light, sweet and slightly ‘green’ fragrance

Aftershave Moisuturising CreamMade with a base of sunflower oil and cold pressed borage seed oil our aftershave moisturising cream also contains sweet almond oil, aloe vera and vitamin e. A light fragrance-free facial moisturising cream which is exceptionally good as an aftershave moisturiser and is MIT and paraben-free.

Aftershave Moisturising GelOur aftershave moisturising gel is a soothing, cooling gel that is fragrance-free made with natural aloe vera, perfect for after shave application on sensitive skin. MIT and paraben-free.
