5. History of a motor cycle

The first internal combustion, petroleum fueled motorcycle was the Daimler

Reitwagen. It was designed and built by the German inventors Gottlieb

Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in Bad Cannstatt, Germany in 1885.

The year 1886 is regarded as the birth year of the modern car when German

inventor Karl Benz patented his Benz Patent-Motorwagen. Cars became
