I wasn’t trying to step on any toes. I just wanted high-quality, handmade western boots that weren’t priced for Daytona 500 winners and casino owners. There weren’t any.
So, I started Tecovas.
We began with simple, classic, iconic cowboy boot styles— and created everyday boots anyone can wear to answer their daily calling.
Because that’s mine.
Our boots, bags, and belts are carefully crafted in time-tested methods from top-quality leathers by some of the finest makers in the world—all without an expensive stop at a middleman.
We’ve built our business from the ground up with a com-mitment to quality, transparency, fairness, and service that would make our grandmothers blush. Once we earn your trust, we aim to keep it.

The entire boot-making process is done by masterful hands. As each section of supple, custom-tanned leather is hand-stitched and sewn, as strings are delicately laid in beautiful and unmistakable cording patterns, a signature boot of style and quality emerges that can only be Tecovas. Sorry, robots.
The Goodyear welt method was invented in 1869 and has been the preferred construction method for luxury shoemakers ever since. A hand-stitched strip of leather connects the boot to the outsole and allows the boot to be re-soled indefinitely with wear.
The last is a mold we make in the shape of a foot, true to U.S. sizes. Developed to perfection after years of sampling, it is the foundational component to a boot, because it defines the shape and fit. Once the shaft, vamp, and counter are sewn together, the leather is placed on the last by hand and secured by expert boot-makers using top-of-the-line, time-tested equipment.
A signature of western boot-making since the late 1800s, malleable lemonwood pegs are hand-hammered to secure the middle section of the outsole. Pegging is difficult to do well—like many of the Tecovas construction methods—but it adds both beauty and function to a boot that will last for many years.
