    WELCOME ABOARD!5.00pm – 8.00pmWelcome function and briefing at Sorrento’sRestaurant – Abel Point Marina, Airlie Beach.

    Collect your rally kits and enjoy drinks and minglingwith fellow participants.

    6.00pmA mandatory briefing on the week’s rally willcommence at 6pm.

    Enjoy finger food and live entertainment.

    NOTES:

    Welcome function with live entertainment and fingerfood included in your Rendezvous entry fee.

    Drinks at individual’s expense.

    MONDAY

  • LET’S SET SAIL!9.00amTime to cast off the lines and set sail!

    A line between the Multihull Solutions’ committeevessel and the Coral Sea Jetty will mark the start of the2012 Whitsunday Rendezvous. As you pass through theline, radio the committee vessel (channel to beconfirmed) to confirm your participation in the rally.

    SAILING LEG 1Enjoy sailing north along the coast to Cape Gloucester Eco-Resort

    Extra care should be taken as you pass through theGloucester Passage.

    Approx. 3.00pmPick up a mooring or anchor at Cape Gloucester Eco-Resort.

    4.00pmWear your best floral/Hawaiian shirt and make yourway to the resort for a Welcome Ashore Beach Party.Enjoy complimentary welcome drinks on the beach -Champagne, white wine and beer.

    6.00pm - DinnerTwo course dinner ashore including a choice ofentrees and mains.

    Live entertainment and prize giving!

  • HEADING FOR THE ISLANDS!Approx. 9.00amTime to drop your mooring or weigh anchor.

    SAILING LEG 2Set sail for Stonehaven anchorage on the north-western side of Hook Island.

    AfternoonTake your own finish time as you pass between HaymanIsland and Langford Island. Radio your finish timethrough to the Multihull Solutions committee vessel.

    On arrival, feel free to explore the delights ofStonehaven Anchorage, Blue Pearl Bay, LangfordIsland, Black Island (Bali Hai) or Butterfly Bay in thisnorthern region. If you want to find some of the bestcoral and snorkelling in the Whitsundays check outMaureens Cove, Luncheon Bay or Mantaray Bay onthe north-eastern end of Hook Island.

    OvernightThere are no group activities planned for tonight.

    Enjoy an overnight anchorage / mooring atStonehaven anchorage.

    Dinner at leisure onboard yachts.

  • WHITEHAVEN BEACH!Approx: 9.00am or earlier if you wishTime to drop your mooring or weigh anchor.

    SAILING LEG 3Drop your mooring or weigh anchor and head forWhitehaven Beach.

    If you have not done the Hill Inlet walk which startsfrom the beach at Tongue Bay, this is a highlyrecommended activity to do along the way. Be sureto also walk down to Betty’s Beach and have a swim –this beach is known by locals as “The Garden of Eden”.

    You have all day to sail and explore before meeting atWhitehaven Beach at 4pm.

    Take your own finish time as you drop anchor atWhitehaven Beach. Let the Multihull Solutions teamknow your finish time when you come ashore.

    4pm - SunsetMeet on the southern end of Whitehaven Beach forthe annual Whitsunday Rendezvous Prawn andPunch party.

    Get ready for some juicy local prawns and tastypunch compliments of Multihull Solutions.

    Enjoy beach games and socialising with fellow Rallyparticipants.

    Please BYO glasses and any other beverages youwould like to consume, other than punch.

    Sadly it’s time to head back to civilisation. Feel freeto spend the morning exploring Shaw Island and orLindeman Island at your leisure.

    Set sail for Hamilton Island.

    From 2.00pmBerth at Hamilton Island.

    Radio Hamilton Island on channel 16 for berthinginstructions. Advise them that you are part of theMultihull Rendezvous. Hamilton Island berthing feesare included in your entry fee.

    Feel free to explore the Harbourside and theResortside of Hamilton Island. As guests of themarina you are welcome to utilise all of the island’sresort pools and facilities.

    Play golf, go bowling or simply relax with a cocktailat one of the many bars.

    5.00pmSunset drinks – venue to be confirmed.

    7.00pm – 11.00pm Presentation Dinner – 70’s style.

    Dust off the flares, peace charms and psychedelicsuits, it’s party time 70’s style!

    11.00pmEvent close.

    NOTE: Berthing fee, BBQ banquet and selected beer, wineand soft drink from 7pm – 11pm included in yourentry fee.

    Hamilton Island Marina Fee is included in your entry.

    DAILY RALLY:Please note that the Multihull Solutions WhitsundayRendezvous is not a racing event. Each participant isout to enjoy sailing with other multihulls and is notofficially racing. You can use whatever sails youplease; spinnakers and motors are optional at alltimes. The only requirement is to have a good time!

    As this is a true cruising rally our focus is onenjoying the ride, not being the fastest to adestination. Depending on the mood of the committee(and bribes offered!), most days we will set afinishing time span and record everyone’s finish timewithin that time span. We will then draw a time out ofa hat and the boat that finished closest to that timewill be the daily winner. That’s as serious as it gets!

    AWARDS:Regular awards will be presented to thoseembracing the true spirit of the rally along with otherprestigious awards such as:

    • Biggest fish caught during the rally – tag and releaseacceptable, photographic evidence required!

    • Best gourmet meal cooked onboard during the rally

    • Best budgie smugglers

    • Best bikini

    • Best figurehead

    • Best joke

    • Best dressed at 70’s night

    • Best crew song/skit

  • EVENT NOTESWINING AND DINING:The fees set out in the entry form cover the directcosts of dining on the Monday, Tuesday andSaturday nights. Before you set sail please ensureyou have catered for your crew for all meals andbeverages not included in the event. Limited supplieswill be available from Gloucester Eco-Resort andHamilton Island.

    WHAT TO BRING AND WEAR:Casual attire is all that is required for the entireevent. Swimwear and lots of sunscreen essential.

    Be sure to bring your favourite floral/Hawaiian Shirtfor the party at Cape Gloucester Eco-Resort, dressup outfits for the Figurehead competition and suitable70’s themed attire for the final night’s Presentationdinner on Hamilton Island. Also bring any othergames or toys you like to make the week enjoyable.

    You will be given your welcome kits on the Mondayat Sorrento’s Restaurant registration. This willinclude a name badge which we would appreciatethat you wear at all social functions during the event.

    COMMITTEE VESSEL:The committee vessel will be the catamaran flyingnumerous Multihull Solutions flags. We will confirmradio station and daily sched times at the briefing.

    RADIO CHANNEL & DAILY SCHEDULE:All communication will be via VHF radio. Channel tobe confirmed at the briefing.

    Each morning at 8am, we will conduct a MultihullRendezvous Daily Sched to confirm our daily itinerary.
