Childhood:Born on August 9 1963 in Newark ,NJ to her parents Cissy Houston and John Russell Houston.Whitney did a lot of singing in the

choir with her mother. She would also tag along and go to the studio with her mother. That’s how she got started in music.

An event that happened in the world when she was alive is the 9/11 bombing.

Influences:

Her mother, Cissy Houston

Her cousin Dionne Warwick

And her Godmother Aretha Franklin.

An important decision she made is to

perform at gigs with her mother and

cousin, that’s where she got

discovered.

Accomplishments:Whitney sold about 86 million copies on her first 4 albums.

She prepared for her success by practicing a lot and always working hard.

She founded the Whitney Houston Foundation for children, a non profit organization that funds projects to help needy children around the world.
