Concept StatementConcept Statement for Eric NeymarThe entrance of Erics apartment will be very inviting and will create warm welcome for guest. This will include an open floor plan for easy access and entertaining purposes. Lauren will be using a black and white contemporary color scheme with accents of grey and red for a pop of color. These will draw attention to Erics history collections. It also will create a large, elegant feel for open concept living space including his wine collection. Lauren will be designing the kitchen and dining area with dark wood and stainless steel appliance's to accent the mosaic backsplash. The large space will give Eric a big space to entertain his guest as well as a comfortable, yet high-end bachelor pad.

Discuss how important codes are in residential design. Explain how knowing this information will specifically advance your future application of code factors while designing. Provide at least two examples.

It is important to know all the codes required for any building or residence that you will

be designing. Knowledge of everything will save designers a lot of time and will also save

the client money down the line to where they will never have to pay more money to correct

any codes that have not be followed. I believe you have to know what you are allowed to do

and what may not be up to code or permitted. It also ensures the safety of your clients or

their guest. It is important to follow these codes to make sure that everything has been

updated and safe for use. Mainly, I think it is important to make sure any fire regulations

are followed. It ensures the safety for everyone in the residence or building. It gives a plan

of action to potentially save lives in case a fire was to take place. Having fire escapes on

elevated levels to create a safe and efficient escape route for anyone on a higher level that

may not have access to the lower level escape routes. I also believe it is very important to

make sure that there are the correct amount of fire extinguishers and smoke detectors in

the same case. To avoid a customer of a total loss and also for the safety of others.

Knowledge of everything will save designers a lot of time and will also save the client money down the line to where they will never have to pay more money to correct any codes that have not be followed. I believe you have to know what you are allowed to do and what may not be up to code or permitted. It also ensures the safety of your clients or their guest. It is important to follow these codes to make sure that everything has been updated and safe for use. Mainly, I think it is important to make sure any fire regulations are followed. It ensures the safety for everyone in the residence or building. It gives a plan of action to potentially save lives in case a fire was to take place. Having fire escapes on elevated levels to create a safe and efficient escape route for anyone on a higher level that may not have access to the lower level escape routes. I also believe it is very important to make sure that there are the correct amount of fire extinguishers and smoke detectors in the same case. To avoid a customer of a total loss and also for the safety of others.

Part II: Study Model Analysis What elements can be modified to achieve better symmetrical or asymmetrical balance?I do believe there is a lot of unused spaced in the bedroom. I would move the bed in front of the windows to create more of a even balance. Where are pleasing proportions seen in the model?The pleasing proportions of the model would be the alignment of the bed and the entertainment center. They are center in the middle room giving equal space on both sides. How does scale play a role in the mass of the furniture arrangement?Scale plays a major role due to knowing exactly how your furniture pieces will fit in the amount of space provided. It helps being able to visualize the amount of positive and negative space you will encounter in your design. What are the dominant and subdominant forms seen in the design?The dominant would be the bed. It take up quite of bit of space in the room. The sub-dominant would be the entertainment center. I believe that to created more space the TV could be mounted on the wall in the same position to eliminate a glare from the windows.
