These exclusive qualities make their belts extra durable than their competitors. In our experience, through the full-service interval, belts by Gates & Continental are just as dependable. (For obvious reasons, we don’t test belts beyond the service interval, & neither should you!)
The exclusive Dayco design does come with a drawback, however – suppleness.
Brand new Dayco belts are much less flexible, & therefore much harder to work with than belts from Gates / Continental. This may create installing a Dayco belt much harder, depending on the application. For example, on the ALH engine.
