The rapid rise of social media has left us with dozens of mainstream options for creating a social media profile, but it’s difficult to maintain a social life if all you do is manage social media all day.

You need to concentrate your efforts, either as an individual or a company, in the platforms that really matter. The way to do this is:

1. Have clearly defined objectives
2. Identify where the target audience is already active
3. Understand their motivations for using each platform.
