MapmyIndia Navi Maps Quick Search Tips
Navi Maps has Single Line search which allows faster and efficient results with quick “Input Suggestion”. Before take you through examples, let us be familiar with simple principle of search interface:
1. User can search address by typing the input in Search Box with “Space” as separator. 2. Additional feature of “Input Suggestions” will give the user feasibility to select the desired
search destination input from the “Suggestion Strip” with the help of partial entered characters of address component in search box.

• Points of Interest anywhere in the country Landmark, Business name or a Building name
• An urban street address within a city
Street or a locality or a sub-locality in 7200+ cities
• An urban house address within a city House numbers in 94 cities
• Rural address or Pin code anywhere in the country
A village or A town or A district center
Here, let get a little familiar with user interface (You can refer the search tips for the above mentioned
component of addresses from next page)-
Tap on Search icon to
open the search window. Search Window:
1. State Bar 2. Search Box
State Bar: Select the State from the “State Bar” a. By Search Icon: Tap on search icon in the State bar and
enter or select the desired State. b. By Sliding the State Bar: Slide the State Bar left or right to
select the desired state. There is also other way to select a state; by just sliding the state bar towards left or right and taking the desired state under down arrow sign on this bar.

Now let’s see and understand with details example:
1. Points of Interest
A point of interest, or POI, can be a business entity (Nokia, Infosys), a popular landmark (Gateway of India, India Gate) or a building name (DLF cyber city, Ambience Mall).
POI can be identified with the Category Symbol icon with listed search results.
Search Input: Search for a POI independently by POI name only within entire state:

Note: Input Suggestion Strip has four type of Header i.e. Area, Place, Street, POI Type.

2. Searching a street address in a city
Searching a street level address (Street name, colony, locality, sub-locality, block, pocket etc.) Example addresses that can be searched using this option:

House number search patterns
Indian house address follows different search patterns in different cities. Mapmyindia house data is build around localized search preferences of the user.
In MapmyIndia product, house numbers can be searched using one of the following combinations: -

3. Rural address/ Pincode - Searching for a village/town/district
Two search options:
1. Search for a village or a town or a district center a. Search for a village or a town or a district center independently b. Search for a village or a town within a district, if you know the corresponding district’s
name 2. Search for a Pin code.
Option 1.a– Go to Search:
You will see the following screen:
• Select state. • Enter one of the following that you
want to search: - A village or - A town or - A district name
So if user wants to search Banavasi village in Karnataka, you just need to key-in “Banavasi” under Karnataka state filter (refer the above snapshot). The Result will display all the villages named Banavasi in Karnataka state
Similarly you can try searching for towns and district centres as well. Some examples are: Towns:
- Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh - Hansi in haryana - Akola in Maharashtra - Nashik in Maharashtra
Villages: - Kirat Pur in Uttar Pradesh - Veliyur in Tamil Nadu
