• At SIUE, students rent their textbooks.

• Textbooks can be picked up at Textbook Service, starting the week before the semester starts through the week of finals.

• The textbook rental fee is included in the student’s tuition and fees.

WHAT?

• The student must be enrolled in the class.

• The student must have their Cougar

ID card.

• Only the student will be permitted to pick up their textbooks.

• Rental books may be returned at any time during the semester.

• Each semester, the return deadline is by 5 p.m. on the Saturday of finals week.

• If textbooks are not returned by the deadline, the student’s account will be charged the replacement cost of each book not returned.

WHEN?

Remember…• Students are responsible for the care and condition of

their textbooks.

• If the student drops or adds classes or withdraws from SIUE, the student has 3 days to return their textbooks.

• Email reminders are sent to the student’s SIUE email account.

• Optional items, such as recommended textbooks, chemistry goggles, lab notes, etc. are available at the University Bookstore.
