Textbook Reference: Chapters 10 and 11. You WILL need your textbook nearly every day for this unit. Bring one or share one.

All questions in this PowerPoint should be considered as things you need to answer. Answer them in your notes and/or syllabus statement book (under the proper statement) as if they were a worksheet to be turned in.

Every other slide will NOT be on the semester 1 final exam. For the next week or so, focus on the first 13 slides.

Take good notes (on your own…) related to each of the questions on the slides.

You will NOT be getting lectures in class for this unit. We will be going over clarifying questions and practice problems in class. You MUST read notes ahead of time on your own!

There are, however, the presentations I used last year posted online—use those as supplemental notes

What does “Thermometric” mean? There are several examples of these

Lab: Calorimetry

Will be completed in class Purpose: to determine the identity of an

unknown metal based only on the calculation of its specific heat capacity.

This will be a CE lab, but there will also be some analysis questions to assist you in processing your data. You will be receiving a procedure and collecting data in class, and you will be writing a conclusion discussing your results.
