Often the choice to collaborate is driven by a desire to achieve efficiencies that help an organization achieve its mission. But sometimes a goal can only be reached by a collaborative effort or not at all. CrossRef’s mission is to provide a focal point for collaboration essential to the advancement of scholarly communication.

A menudo, la decisión de colaborar es impulsada por el deseo de lograr eficiencias que ayudan a una organización a lograr su misión. Pero a veces un objetivo sólo se puede alcanzar mediante un esfuerzo de colaboración o no se alcanza en absoluto. La misión de CrossRef es proporcionar un punto focal para la colaboración esencial para el avance de la comunicación científica.

In 1999 a small group of publishers met at the Frankfort Book Fair.

They had a problem.
