Wheel Impact Load Detector (WILD) RailMan & WILD is a Wayside Safety System used to identify the Rolling Stock with high impacts by measuring the dynamic load on the track, at a very early stage and thereby protect the Rail Infrastructure and avoid derailments and catastrophic failures. WILD also reduces service failures and unplanned maintenance cost of Rolling stocks and Tracks. Intelligent software algorithms have been developed to identify the Wheel Impact and Impact Load Factor along with other parameters like time & speed of the train, axle number, average dynamic wheel load and maximum wheel load. The sensors on the track senses the dynamic impact load caused by the wheels, the high speed data acquisition system acquires the data and the embedded controller does the signal processing & analysis to identify the impact load data. The same is transferred to a remote centralized server ( ) through GPRS and Optical Fiber Communication. http://www.railman.in RailMan – Railway Asset Management is an online platform for analysis and processing of data generated by different Wayside Systems. It is indigenously developed by ApnaTech and can integrate with any wayside equipment that uses the predefined openXML protocol. All data collected by WILD is decoded into a user understandable format and transferred to RailMan. The users can log on to RailMan and generate reports in different formats. The online platform also details information on Maintenance Alarms & Critical Alarms. Wheel Impact Load Detector (WILD) WILD system was initially developed along with RDSO & IIT Kanpur. Impact load is also transferred to rail head from wheel through combination of any or all of the following defects like POSSIBLE DEFECTS IN CASE OF CRITICAL ALARM BY WILD An analysis of the reports and identified axles by RDSO has indicated that when an alarm is generated by WILD, one or more of the following may be the cause and is not an exhaustive list.
