The new suite of INTO brochures for our UK centres has now been launched. To help give you guidance on some key changes to pathways, progression, entry requirements and other INTO updates, we have produced this useful ‘What’s new guide for 2017?

NEW COURSES
• International Foundation in Sciences pathway reduced from three to two sub-pathways: Pharmacy, Health and Life Sciences; and Physical Sciences and Engineering.
• Six-month International Foundation in Accounting and Finance, and Management with March start date.
• International Foundation in Social Sciences and Media.
• International Year One in Business, recognised by 18 UK universities.
• Pre-Master’s in Banking and Finance.
• Pre-Master’s in Business Administration 2-term option.
PROGRAMME CHANGES• English for University Study course has
been enhanced to provide intensive preparation for students intending to join a pre-university academic programme or university degree in the UK.
• Students need a score of IELTS 4.0-5.5.
• Face-to-face and online learning with 20 hours of taught lessons plus an additional 10 learning hours.
• Economics and Actuarial Sciences pathway renamed to Economics, Business and Actuarial Sciences.
• International Foundation in Life Sciences. changed to Biosciences.
• Biomedical Science degree fully integrated back into St George’s. Students should apply directly to the University. Remains an International Foundation progression option.
• International Summer School 17-28 July 2017. New price for 2017: £2,500. Apply by 01 March 2017.
• International Year One in Art, Design and Media, and Hospitality, Events and Tourism integrated with teaching for Year 1 home students. Students must specify their chosen degree.
• International Year One in Art, Design and Media, and Hospitality, Events and Tourism January intake cancelled.
• International Foundation in Art, Design and Media changed to Art and Design.
• International Foundation in Science and Engineering split into two sub-pathways: Biochemistry and Engineering.
• Graduate Diploma renamed to Pre-Master’s. The 3-term programme now credited on academic content.
• Integrated Programmes focus on chosen degree with Year 1 and 2 undergraduate entry. Integrated Programmes: Master’s two-year courses option.
• Fast-track Pre-Master’s (6 months).

Entry requirements can differ depending on programme, pathway and INTO centre. Below are updates to existing INTO programmes.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
• International Foundation in Biomedical, Life and Environmental Sciences; Humanities, Law and Social Science 4-term: IELTS 5.0 (with a minimum of 4.5 in all subskills) or equivalent.
• International Foundation (3-term): IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 4.5 in any subskill).
• Exceptions: Biomedical Sciences and Psychology which require subskill 5.0 minimum and Law 6.0 overall with minimum 5.5 subskill)
• International Foundation in Biosciences: IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all subskills).
• International Graduate Medicine (MBBS): a degree in any subject at a level equivalent to an Upper Second Class honours (previously Lower Second Class); and minimum MCAT score 503 overall.
• International Medicine MBBS/BSc: Overall IB score of 36 (including bonus points) which must include: 18 points at Higher Level, with a minimum score of 6 in at least one of Biology and/or Chemistry. At Standard Level, a minimum score of 6 must be attained in Biology or Chemistry if not taken to Higher Level, and a minimum score of 5 must be attained in Mathematics (or Maths Studies) and English, if at least a B grade has not previously been attained in GCSE/IGCSE/O level Maths and English.
• Application deadline 15 October 2016 for 2017 entry.
• Integrated programmes: English language entry requirements IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all subskills) or equivalent.
• Accelerated Foundation: IELTS 4.5 (with a minimum of 4.5 in any subskill) or equivalent.
• Graduate Diploma in Business Economics, Law and Social Sciences: IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all subskills) or equivalent.
• Specific IELTS requirements for students progressing to the following degrees: Audiovisual Translation and Popular Culture - IELTS 5.5 (with 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in all other subskills) or equivalent; and Law; Publishing; Culture, Policy and Management; or Health - IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all subskills) or equivalent.
• Students with a non-Law background can now be considered for the Graduate Diploma in Law. Subject to students achieving the required mark on the programme, City Law School will accept students on to the LLM.
• International Foundation Social Sciences and Media students required to specify module choice to focus on either Media or Social Sciences. Students wishing to specialise in Media will need IELTS 5.5.
• Pre-Master’s 2-term: IELTS 6.0 (with 6.0 in writing and no less than 5.5 in other subskills) or equivalent.
• Pre-Master’s 3-term: IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all subskills) or equivalent.
• International Foundation: IELTS 5.0 (minimum 4.5 in all subskills).
• Pre-Masters (6 months) : IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5,5 in all subskills).
5What’s new for 2017?
Our INTO centres and partner universities offer excellent facilities. Below are some of the updates to academic and student life facilities.
FACILITIES
CENTRE CHANGES
• Multi million pound investment in expanding the INTO Centre including:
- purpose-built chemistry lab
- architecture studio
- student resource centre with IT facilities
- purpose-built lecture theatre
- ten new classrooms with interactive technology
• Mansion Park residence is now called Park View.
• Willow Walk residence now offers a premium en-suite option.
• INTO London moved to a shared site on Middlesex Street with INTO City, University of London in London’s financial district.
• Dedicated Art and Design studio.
• Accommodation referral service - other accommodation options may be available including Chapter London.
• City is now part of the University of London (UoL), giving students access to UoL library resources and Student Central, the UoL’s student centre with sporting facilities, bars and a concert venue.
• The Centre’s name and logo have updated accordingly to: City, University of London.
• Andrew Stewart Hall en suite accommodation has been replaced with Beech Court (on-campus) and John Forty’s Court (off-campus).
• New purpose-built centre due to open in September 2017. Architectural drawings can be found in the brochure.
OVERALL
Floor plans for the most commonly available room type have been added to each of the INTO brochures under the Accommodation section.

10 What’s new for 2017?
The Terms and Conditions are specific to each INTO centre. However there have been some updates that are applicable to all UK centres, these are detailed below:
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
In line with the introduction of new legislation from the Competition and Markets Authority’s (CMA) we have made a number of amendments to our Terms and Conditions for 2017–18 entry. Listed below are the clauses which have changed:
APPLICATION TO THE COURSE AND CONFIRMATION OF ACCEPTANCE• 2c(i) – a new clause has been added
with regards to the criteria for students accepting their offer.
COURSE FEES AND PAYMENT• 3a – additions have been made to the
clause to confirm fees are fixed for the duration of the course once all fees have been paid in full.
• 3b – a new clause has been added highlighting that there are incidental costs that a student might incur and providing an example of such a cost.
• 3g – amendments have been made to confirming the date changes for both tuition and accommodation fees each year.
CANCELLATION CHARGES• 6d – the clause has been rewritten to
clarify when and on what basis a refund on Uniplan insurance will be issued.
CANCELLATION OR DEFERRAL BECAUSE OF VISA REFUSAL/ VISA DELAYS• 9a – a new clause has been introduced
to remind students of their responsibility when it comes to understanding UKVI regulations and ensuring that the documents they submit adhere to these.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE ADMISSIONS CRITERIA• 13b – the clause has been rewritten to
clarify what happens to a student whose English language level on arrival differs significantly from that provided as part of the admissions process.
BEHAVIOUR, WELFARE AND ATTENDANCE• 14c – additions have been made to
the clause to stipulate the outcome of any serious breech of INTO and university regulations.
CLASS TIMES AND SIZES• 15a and 15c– additions have been
made to both clauses to confirm that reasonable and adequate notice will be given to students should any classes or examinations need to take place out of the normal class hours.
ACCOMMODATION• 18b – additions have been made to the
clause to allow under 18s to also stay “with DBS checked homestay hosts”.
• 18g – a new clause has been added to highlight that resit examinations dates may take place outside of programme dates and will incur additional costs to cover the additional period should the students wish to remain in accommodation during this period.
• 18j – the damage and sundry expenses clause has been moved from the end of the previous T&Cs to form part of the accommodation section.
AIRPORT PICKUPS• 21 – correcting an error in the 2015-16
terms and conditions, Airport pickup has been made a stand-alone section.
RECORD KEEPING DUTIES UNDER TIER 4 IMMIGRATION RULES (PBS)• 23a – the clause has been redrafted to
clarify that in order to comply with UKVI regulations it may be necessary for INTO to hold and share some student data.
• 23c – a new clause has been added regarding police registration for students in line with their visa.
• 23d – a new clause has been added in relation to students being responsible for ensuring they are compliant with current UKVI visa requirements.
LIABILITY• 27d – additions have been made to the
clause to advise of the steps INTO will take should unforeseen circumstance prevent or delay the course and/or services being delivered.
DISCLAIMER• 28a – the disclaimer clause has been
rewritten to remind students that while every effort is taken to ensure the information in the brochure is correct, they should continue to refer to the INTO Study website for the most up to date information.
OTHER FEES• 35 – the ‘Other fees’ section has been
extended to include information about accommodation, insurance, one-to-one tuition, airport pick ups and incidental costs that were previously contained elsewhere in the T&Cs.
COMPLAINTS HANDLING POLICY• 38 – a number of new clauses have been
added within regards to INTO’s complaints handling policy.
DATES AND PRICES• Estimated cost of attendance added
to the Dates and Prices section of all brochures.
• New format for prices to enable greater clarity regarding which pathways are available for each entry point and subject specific pricing.
• Premium insurance removed.
Students applying for an Integrated Programme at INTO University of Stirling must include their chosen degree programmes on the application form.
