Summer, in Essex.
Way back in July
Arise were involved
in Junior Solid, an an-
nual day event for
children age 7-11.
Over the day we
spent time with 400
children thinking
about who Jesus is
and the awesome
opportunity we
have to follow him.
The children en-
gaged through a
variety of activities
and discussions
and it was great to
hear them talking
about how they can
respond when they
get back to their
home churches. One
of my favourite an-
swers to the question
on the
wall
(What
words
come
to mind
when
you
think
of
Jesus?) which we
encouraged them
to answer as they
came in was Epic!
using the help
of our
superhero, Al.
We had an
awesome
team of Arise
Volunteers
who helped
us over an
intense, fun-filled
weekend! We are
At the end of
September Ed and I
travelled to
Wallingford in
Oxfordshire to work
with the children for
the Baptist Church’s
weekend ‘at home’.
The theme was
radical discipleship
which we unpacked
working with
Wallingford
Baptist Church
again in
December to
run ‘Journey to
the Centre of the
Christmas
Pudding: The
Event’ with them.

at the Holiday Club at
the church I am part
of—Sawyers in
Brentwood. This was
a very different
experience—being a
‘mere helper’ and not
involved in the
planning! An
awesome week
entitled ‘Hearts of
Gold’ with lots of
thought provoking
activities and a gunge
filled Gladiator
Olympic Challenge!
Over the summer I
was involved in the
Holiday Club at
Kingswood Baptist
Church, Basildon with
Arise—a superhero
theme looking at the
story of Moses and
how God can use
anyone. I also helped

20 children’s workers
thinking about how
children can be ‘part
of the time’ - what
their giftings are. We
are launching a
further 5 Just a

About Arise Ministries
Arise Ministries wants to work with churches to pioneer new
outreach to children in your community. Working on a local,
regional and national level, Arise Ministries seeks to help
the Church reach the children with the gospel, so that they
have an opportunity to discover Jesus and become his
followers.
There are four key areas of ministry:
1. Equipping and Support
2. Events
3. Resources
4. ALF Clubs
Our vision is ‘Equipping the church to reach a generation’.
We believe children can become, be and make disciples of
Jesus, whilst children. We want to work in, through and with
