STATION TASK CARD Unit 1 2 3 4 __________________ Station Activity Name: What’s Happening? Standard: Reading for Information Skill/Objective: (COPY IN YOUR PASSPORT) Drawing Inferences from Text Directions: 1. Work with the students at your station, a partner, or alone. 2. Spread the numbered cards out on the table and take turns reading the clues #1-#3 aloud. 3. Each student gets only one guess per set of cards so no calling out. Think and draw a conclusion about where you might be, using the clues read. 4. Take turns using the Answer Key to check answers. 5. Complete the Student Activity Sheet titled “Where Am I?” Leave the bottom square blank and then switch with a partner to complete. Each partner will initial the bottom section. Challenge: How might the following people use the skill of drawing inferences in their jobs? - detective - doctor - mailman - pilot - chef - game designer
