Welcome to the 2014 academic year and a special thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding whilst construction around the campus limits access availability. Our build program for the Early Years centre and Junior/ Secondary classrooms is underway and due for completion at year’s end. It is a tribute, once again, to our School Council and the Anglican Schools Commission for their planning and foresight to realise such facilities. All the students looked fabulous on Monday and the excitement of a new year was also infectious. From all the smiles around the school, 2014 is shaping up very well from the outset. I extend a warm welcome to our new students and staff. Our newcomers have come from far and wide and I look forward to their contribution to the school throughout the years ahead. Staffing Regretfully Ms Brigid Terry has resigned her role as Head of English to be closer to family in Perth. Ms Terry has been invaluable in the planning and organisation of the English secondary department. We are indebted to Ms Terry for her unstinting professionalism and good humour. Her contribution to the success and reputation of the school’s English department and schooling in general has been significant. Ms Fiona Chapman has been appointed as the school’s Head of English. Ms Chapman (BA Dip Ed) has experience in both country and metropolitan schools and is a former Head of English with extensive experience in working with the School Curriculum and Standards Authority as an examination writer and checker, along with NAPLAN marking. Our new staff collectively bring to Georgiana Molloy an excellent blend of experience, skill and enthusiasm. A total of 8 ‘new staff’ have joined the team in 2014. 2013 Leavers Excel I am pleased to report that our 2013 results were the best ever achieved by a Year 12 cohort at Georgiana Molloy and the school is now the proud recipient of a Beazley Medallist (VET) winner in Emma Hay. I couldn’t think of a person more deserving. Gifted, hardworking and humble, Emma deserved to succeed. Collectively and individually there were some outstanding results. I would like to congratulate the students who achieved an ATAR above 90 with Hayden Beynon having the highest ATAR, on 99.6. Chloe Carter was awarded a Certificate of Commendation and was the top student in the Stage 3 Chemistry Course in the State. We were also acknowledged in The West Australian as being ranked in the Top 50 WACE Schools in the State along with 100% WACE Graduation in consecutive years. These results placed us amongst the highest achieving schools in the State. The students are to be congratulated. Thank you too, to the teaching staff and educational assistants for a wonderful job and parents for your support. Review of the Australian Curriculum All Australian students deserve access to a world-class curriculum that encourages diversity and which allows schools flexibility over how it is taught. The move towards a nationally consistent curriculum for school students has been a step in the right direction, but the government believes there is room for improvement. To ensure we have the best possible curriculum the government has appointed Professor Ken Wiltshire AO and Dr Kevin Donnelly to conduct a review of the Australian Curriculum. The review will evaluate the robustness, independence and balance of the Australian Curriculum, examining the content and development process. The review will help ensure the curriculum improves student outcomes, as part of a focus on putting students first. Members of the public can make a submission to the review by completing this submission form https://submissions.deewr.gov.au/Forms/AustralianCurriculum/pages/form by Friday 28 February 2014. Professor Wiltshire and Dr Donnelly will provide recommendations to the government in mid-2014. Congratulations The GMAS Swimming Club (Inc) was incorporated on the 13th January 2014. The school acknowledges and thanks the Anglican Schools Commission, School Council, Swimming Club members and Mr Peter May for their tireless work and efforts in making this incorporation possible. Congratulations to Kaeleigh Brown who was awarded the Shire of Capel Young Sportsperson of the Year recently. Kaeleigh was nominated by the Capel Pony Club. Well done on such a fantastic achievement Kaeleigh. Dean teacher of (Year 5G) and Anna Owens celebrated their marriage over the vacation period as did Tran (PPM) and Chris Sia. We wish them much joy and happiness as they undertake this next chapter in their lives. Philip (Head of Curriculum Services) and Donna Deroost welcomed Charles Deroost into their family on January 24 this year. Congratualtions Philip and Donna on your latest addition to the family. Welcome back everyone. We have had a great start to the year. it is lovely to see the students smiling faces and to learn of their adventures and holiday activities.

At the whole school assembly on Monday I noted several things: It is important for the students to try. Set achievable goals that you can reach and then work hard. Ask for help along the way. Learn from mistakes and be kind and thoughtful to others.

I emphasised the values that we hold at GMAS and are summed up in the acronym F.I.R.E.

Faith - we are a Church based school, we have a wonderful, caring Chaplain, religion is important in our lives and we have wonderful St Mary’s parish supporting us. Integrity – remain honest with yourself and your dealings with others Respect – for yourself, the school and others Education - We want you to be a wonderful citizen in this world – be able to fend for yourself, think for yourself and be mindful and supportive of others.

Individual, Class or Home Room Photos next week On Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th February we will be having photographers in to take individual, Class or Home Room and Family photos. I have a schedule attached at the end of this What’s On so you can see the approximate times. Note – most photos will occur in the MAC. Students should be neatly presented – hair groomed and brushed, uniform correct. Family groups can also be taken. These will occur day one, commencing at 8am. Forms are required to be completed for family photos. These forms can be collected from Student Services before the day. Secondary boys will need to wear a tie. There is a Middle School tie and a Senior School tie available from the uniform shop. Ms Jo Burns Deputy Principal

SENIOR SCHOOL SENIOR SCHOOL SENIOR SCHOOL

Welcome Senior school students and parents to 2014. Following on from some outstanding results from our graduating class of 2013, I am very excited for the years ahead for our current students who I’m sure will benefit equally from the opportunities afforded them at GMAS. I would encourage all students, with their parents support, to get on board early in the year with the basics such as meeting uniform standards, setting up sound study habits and attending to daily procedures such as diaries and attendance so their focus is entirely on their studies and achieving personal excellence. Some highlights from our Year 12 class of 2013: Beazley Medal (VET) – Emma Hay Certificates of Commendation – Chloe Carter, Emma Hay and Chantel Hayden Top Stage 3 Student (State) – Chloe Carter (Chemistry) Students with an ATAR 97 and above (Top 3% of the state) – Hayden Beynon (99.6), Chloe Carter (98.95), Holly Creek (97.35), Brigitte O’Brien (97.60)

Study Skills Tips to start the year. All students from years 7-10 will be participating in study skills sessions this year during class periods. Year 11 and 12 students have started the same program and have access to the online Study Skills Handbook if they need help in this area. Congratulations to Amy Bolton for being the first GMAS student to complete the study skills program at the end of 2013. Amy will now have this endorsed program appear on her WACE certificate at the end of Year 12, and has earned 2 points towards her graduation before commencing Year 11 studies. Well done! 1. INDEPENDENT LEARNING: There are two types of work in secondary school. The compulsory work your teacher tells you to do, and independent learning that you are expected to do when you have no homework. 2. WORK SMART: If you want to still have a life, but get your schoolwork done (for most students this will be 1-2 hours per night, 3 hours in years 11 and 12) then you need to work smart. Keep your personal life and schoolwork separate. Don’t do work in front of the TV, switch off your phone and Facebook. Work in half hour blocks. 3. BE ORGANISED AND PLAN: Being organised makes your life easier! So have an organised space to work in, record homework in your diary, keep track of completed work and reschedule work not done. 4. ASK FOR HELP EARLY: If you don’t understand something, ask for help. The sooner the better. 5. LEARN HOW TO STUDY PROPERLY: If you still think that to study for a test you just read your book over and over, time to learn how smart people study! The main things to remember about study for a test are: Make study notes or summaries first (write down in point form what you need to learn), learn these notes not just by reading but by testing yourself on them and do as many different questions as you can as practise.

MIDDLE SCHOOLMIDDLE SCHOOLMIDDLE SCHOOL

The Middle School now has 358 students of which one third are new to the Middle School – a warm welcome to all and I trust your start to the year has been good. 2014 is going to be another exciting and busy year here at GMAS. I would like to welcome Ms Stephanie Cresswell as the Year 7 Coordinator. Her role is to provide pastoral support to our Year 7 students and work with them as they begin their journey in the Middle School.

The start of the year is always very busy, and I would like to thank students and staff for their positive and enthusiastic approach and their understanding when things did not go quite right, maybe there was a problem with a timetable or a class could not be found. Thank you also to the many families who attended Orientation Day last Friday. This is a valuable day and helps students, staff and parents calm the nerves a little before the rest of the school starts. The Year 7s spent some time getting to know each other with some activities in the MAC.

Uniform notice Thank you to the students and parents on the way you have presented at the start of the year and I expect that the high standard of presentation continues throughout the year. Please note that dress length for girls is at the knee – this means that when kneeling it should touch the ground – if not girls have been advised to lengthen or purchase a new dress by the end of week 2. Other points to note are: girls - hair is neat and tidy, off the face and tied up if longer than shoulder length, no makeup, nail polish or jewellery and boys must have a school belt, hair to be neat, tidy off the face and above the collar. Students have been spoken to about uniform standards and I ask that parents support the school with this.

Achievements We have had some students who have been very busy over the holidays and the have been some outstanding achievements. Congratulations to the following students – Kaeleigh Brown was awarded the Shire of Capel Young Sportsperson of the Year award. Natalie Iredale has returned from Queensland where she represented WA in underwater hockey. The team had a fantastic tournament and conceded only one goal. Natalie is now training for selection in the U19 Australian team. Good luck Natalie. Kael Walsh – competed in the Hawaiian Pro Junior surfing event as one of the 4 youngest competitors. A fantastic opportunity and Kael performed very well. He is now heading to compete in the Australian Open Pro Junior in Manly and the Australian Surf Festival Pro Junior and Newcastle. Best wishes to Kael. Jack Thomas and Charlie Wise competed in and came third in Taj Burrows Small Fries Surfing Competition at Yallingup. Phillip Holdman sailed in the Pelican State Championships. Lilly Henley, Bronte Peacock and Taylah Burles played cricket for the South West cricket team. Lilly was selected in the team of the tournament for her excellent efforts with the bat. Thomas Evans was selected to represent WA in the Country U15 team and competed in the Tom Moody State Carnival. Well done to all of these students.

Protective Behaviours Workshops On Tuesday 11 February all Year 8 students will participate in a Protective Behaviours workshop delivered by Mrs Andrea Musulin who is executive officer of Protective Behaviours WA. The program teaches children, young people and adults a range of skills and strategies to help prevent and reduce child abuse and violence in our communities. I strongly encourage parents to attend the Protective Behaviours parent workshop being held in the Multi Activity Centre (MAC) on Tuesday 11 February commencing at 6.30pm. This is a free event and highly recommended. Please advise the school if you are planning to attend.

JUNIOR SCHOOLJUNIOR SCHOOLJUNIOR SCHOOL

Welcome back! Already the holidays seem a distant memory but it is always great to be back and see all the excitement and smiles around the school. Within our Junior School, a priority has always been the well-being of our students; happy children are undoubtedly better learners! The staff has recently been exposed to a variety of initiatives and programs to ensure the core needs of the child are catered for while at GMAS. Hopefully this will be reflected in healthier, happier students over the coming months. I recently read an interesting article by Michael Grose who provided some simple tips on helping our children to grow: Encourage them whenever you can: self-confidence is a precious commodity. Be a good role model. Be involved in your child’s learning. Talk to your child regularly and meaningfully. Help your child to have a sense of perspective. Finally some dates for the diary: Monday 10th February: Parent Information Night Tuesday/Wednesday 11th and 12th February: School Photos Friday 14th February: K to Y3 Beach Carnival Thursday 20th February: Y3 to Y6 Swimming Carnival Never a dull moment! Welcome back to another fabulous school year in Early Childhood at GMAS! “All of us learn throughout our lives. It starts from the day we are born. It is now recognised that the early years of life are the most important for learning. That’s when the foundations for the future are laid, and when we begin moving down the path that will take us through childhood, the teenage years and ultimately into adulthood.” The early years are critically important for the academic, social, emotional and physical growth of your children. I look forward to sharing this exciting journey with you and your children and look forward to our wonderful staff providing a holistic and child-centred education experience, preparing them to become independent and confident 21st Century learners. It has been an exciting first week, with children starting school for the very first time in Little Georgies, big Kindy kids coming full days and brave Pre-primary students coming to school every day. Year 1s are enjoying the freedom of the big playground and the Year 2s have taken to their role as the big kids, like ducks to water. I am amazed at the growth of students over the holiday period. Smiles are bright, uniforms are new, hair cuts smart and attitudes positive about the year ahead. Thank you to parents who have provided feedback on the new initiative to eliminate the EC booklists for K-2 this year. All feedback has been very positive and I am glad it has saved you time over the busy holiday period.

Term 1 Fee Accounts The Term 1 School Fee Statement will be posted out to families at the end of this week. Payment date for the account is Monday 24th February, 2014. Direct Debit Payment Arrangements Direct Debit payment arrangements have resumed automatically at the start of this year. At the beginning of each new school year, parents need to adjust their payment arrangements with the school in line with any increases to school fees and other charges as outlined in the Financial Information Brochure published each year. This is particularly important as students move from one year level to the next. Parents are requested to contact the Accounts Department by email on [email protected] if they have not as yet renegotiated their payment amounts for this year. For those families who do not have a Direct Debit in place and are considering a payment arrangement, the school wishes to advise that Direct Debit payment arrangements are available for 2014, and are designed to assist families with spreading the cost of their School Fees over the course of the year. For enquiries please contact the Accounts Department on the above email address for further information. Mrs Wahnita Banwell Administrative Assistant

Pre-primary G students have loved their first week meeting both their teachers, Ms Jamieson and Mrs Mullen, in the shared teaching classroom environment being introduced this year, and I have already seen lots of learning and heard lots of laughter coming from all of the EC classrooms. A big congratulations to Ms Trewarn, our current Year 2M teacher, who has been selected to a new role in EC, as literacy & Numeracy Coordinator. She will work closely with Mrs Pates the JS coordinator, Mr Whirledge and myself to ensure that GMAS is at the forefront of curriculum, teaching and learning and assessment best practice in the areas of Literacy & Numeracy. The Pre-primary students will be participating in PIPS testing, an on-entry baseline assessment which assesses the students in literacy, numeracy and phonological awareness in weeks 2 and 3. The assessment diagnoses individual student work and provides data on areas students are achieving well in and identifies areas where they need further development. It also assists in predicting future performance for identifying individuals who might benefit from early intervention. Photos will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure your children are dressed in their appropriate uniform for this day. Photo envelopes MUST be returned to your class teacher whether you are purchasing photographs or not. The Early Childhood Beach Carnival (PP-2) will take place at the Busselton foreshore (near the jetty) next Friday 14th February. This year the Year 3 cohort will also be joining us for the day. If you are able to assist, please email Miss Reynolds, [email protected], as I’m sure extra hands will make the day run smoothly. Children need to wear their bathers, house shirts and shorts and appropriate shoes to and from the beach. Buses will leave school at approx. 8:50am and return by approx. 1pm in time for lunch. I’m sure it will be an awesome day of fun. Our GMAS Junior School Parent Information Night for all classes is this Monday 10th February. Teachers will explain in greater detail the way their individual classes run. It is always a very informative and comprehensive session and provides a wonderful opportunity for you to meet and chat with your child’s teacher. Times have been revised to ensure parents are not out too late. I look forward to seeing you all there. Early Childhood times are: 4.30pm – 5.15pm: Kindy G and Kindy M; PPG and PPM; Year 1G and Year 1M 5.15pm – 6.00pm: Year 2G and Year 2M Congratulations to Miss Ngo who was married over the holiday break and is now Mrs Sia. NEW ENRICHMENT STAFF In 2014 we have two new members of staff working within the area of Enrichment. I would like to take the opportunity to introduce Chantel Hayden who will assist with Enrichment Administration and Shasa Smith (Education Assistant). At GMAS the primary roles of Enrichment teachers include overseeing students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, Gifted and Talented, literacy support and numeracy support. For parents and teachers of students from Kindy to Year 6 who are concerned about their child’s development in any of these areas Miss Jacinta Busher would be the person to contact, in Years 7-12 Dr Linda Mosen-Lowe would be the contact person. PARENTING SUPPORT AND ADVICE Both parents and teacher often look for sound advice and support on how to raise exceptional children. Michael Groses' website http://parentingideas.com.au/Home may be able to provide the support and strategies you are looking for to assist children. Michael is the author of 8 parenting books, including his new release Thriving! JUNIOR SCHOOL PHILSOPHY AN DEBATING CLUB Due to the great success and large number of students enthusiastic to participate GMAS will continue to run in 2014 the Junior School Philosophy and Debating Clubs. The Philosophy Club will meet on Wednesday lunch times and the Junior School Debating Club will run on Friday lunch times. Both clubs will be held in the Enrichment Classroom in the library. The club will be open to students in Years 3-6. The Junior School Philosophy and Debating Clubs activities will be run by Year 11 students. The clubs will begin week 2 of term 1 starting at 12.40pm. All students who are interested in participating in the Junior School Philosophy Club are welcome to attend. Dr. Linda Mosen-Lowe Head of Enrichment

Junior School Showstoppers Showstoppers is a Junior School singing group which meets every Wednesday morning before school at 7.45am in the Ensemble Room. The group learns popular songs as well as items for special events throughout the year, (we even received First Place at the Bunbury Eisteddfod last year!). Permission slips for joining the Showstoppers singing group have been distributed this week to any interested students in Years 3 – 6. Please check your child’s bag, fill in and return next Wednesday morning when they arrive for the first choir session at 7.45am in the Ensemble Room (near the MAC entrance).

Maths Tutorials: After school Maths Tutorials will be held from 3.30pm-4.30pm on Wednesdays in weeks 2,4,6,8 & 9 during Term1. These will be held in Rooms 36 & 38 for students in Years 7 – 12.

Pearson Places: All students in years 7 -10 have been provided with a login code for the website www.pearsonplaces.com.au . This website allows students to access an electronic version of the textbook that they will use in Mathematics lessons, as well as range of interactive resources such as tutorials, worked examples and additional worksheets. The textbook can also be downloaded onto the student laptop meaning internet access is not always required. As well as the benefit of the additional resources, access to this website means students no longer need to carry what is a very large textbook to and from school.

Middle/Senior School Musical Production

Please be advised that auditions and chorus sign-ups will be open in Week Three for this year’s musical, “How the West was Warped”. The show is a riotous romp back in time to the wild, wild west of Texas when men were men and women were too – unless they were a member of the Women’s Temperance League campaigning against the ‘demon drink’, when Indians seemed to pop up from behind any available cactus and Mexican bandits were a dime a dozen. Join loveable, old timer Stumpy, as he takes the audience on a journey of romance, suspense, villainy and rootin’ tootin’ action in this musical masterpiece written especially for high school students. Students should keep an eye out on the Ensemble Room door, Performing Arts notice board and Daily Notices for updates. Any student who is interested in anything to do with theatre should be in this show!!

UNIFORM SHOPUNIFORM SHOPUNIFORM SHOP

A big thank you to Mrs Helen Ayling for assisting over the very busy holiday period, it was wonderful to meet all our new families as well as seeing many familiar faces back again for another exciting year at GMAS. We have sold out of 8c.10c and 12c dresses but will have these in the next two weeks. I can put you on the waiting list so please come and see me or email. Please keep in mind our Uniform Guidelines, these can be found on our website and in your child’s diary. The Uniform Shop has been selling a range of navy hair accessories that have been very popular so I am ordering more, along with a sports bow to match our House colours. We have no black in our uniform so please keep consistency with navy. Parents can place an order via email on [email protected] . Please include your child’s name, class, order and Credit Card details so I can process and hold in Student Services for collection the next working day. Mrs Michelle Knipe Uniform Shop Manager

Italian Exchange Program 2014 We are very fortunate at GMAS to be part of an amazing exchange program, which is coordinated by the Western Australian Association of Italian Teachers (WAATI). This exchange has been running in Western Australia for over 30 years, and I myself was a participant in this program in the early days of the exchange. It really is a fabulous opportunity for our students! Ask yourself these questions:

Do you want to share the wonders of our state with an enthusiastic teenager who is keen to learn about our culture and the legendary Aussie way of life?

Do you want to give your child an opportunity of a lifetime to have the hospitality reciprocated in Italy for 8 weeks from late November to late January?

Do you want to learn about another culture? Remember that often it is through intercultural exchanges such as this one, that can help to foster tolerance and acceptance of cultural diversities, leading to improved harmony between countries.

Do you have a loving family who is happy to share its home and time? This program is open to all students in the school, your child does not even have to be a student of Italian – just one who can appreciate the wonders of Italy and who may enjoy a trip to Italy at the end of the year to benefit from a wonderful cultural experience!! You don’t need to be rich, nor have a large home – just a comfortable bed, good wholesome food and a genuine desire to showcase your country and enjoy the experience! Of course, for students of Italian, it is an opportunity to improve their language skills in an immersion experience. Students of Italian who go on exchange can spend the summer having fun, and improve their grades. With the university bonuses for language studies in year 12 now extended to more universities... the reasons to say "yes" just keep coming! Any families who are interested in hosting this year, or having their child go to Italy in the 2014/2015 summer holidays, please contact me via email ([email protected]) or phone me on 9752 5252. Italy Tour 2015 Thank you to the parents who have already expressed interest in the Italy Tour for their child in 2015. For the benefit of new parents, we hope to undertake a school tour to Italy in April 2015, following on from the success of our inaugural tour last year. This will be during camp week and the April school holidays. Students who will be in Years 9 to 12 in 2015 are eligible to express interest in attending. Cities/areas we plan to visit include: Rome, Naples, Sorrento, Assisi, Florence, Pisa, Venice, Milan and Lake Como. A parent information evening will be held on the 11th March 6.00pm in the school Library. Please contact me via email [email protected] or by phone on 9752 5252 to express interest or for more information. Justine Richmond Tour and Exchange Coordinator

GMAS NETBALL MUSTER 2014 Saturday 15th Feb, 9-10.30am, Junior Undercover area

All past, present and future players and parents of the GMAS netball club are invited to attend the 2014 muster. Get your team organised and come along. Pre-organised teams are welcome. Teams must have a coach, manager and 7 players to register for the 2014 season. A maximum of 9 players is recommended. We will endeavour to place players without a team on the day. Players that are not placed will still have the opportunity to attend the Busselton Association muster. Uniforms will also be sorted on the day of the muster. New uniforms will be ordered for the upcoming season and a second hand register will be available. Players are encouraged to bring along any second hand dresses for re-sale. Opportunities to book training days and courts will be available on the day. Equipment will be distributed to teams that are organised. Fiona Black, Kerri Peters and Denise Green

LIBRARYLIBRARYLIBRARY

Welcome back to the library for a new year. We have a great selection of new books waiting patiently to be borrowed. However, we also have a backlog of books ready to be covered, 25 bags in fact! Please feel free to drop into the library, pick up a bag and cover in the comfort of your own home OR spend an hour in the library (coffee/tea provided) and cover a bag or two. Enlist the help of friend and make it a social occasion. Either way we would love to see you. We welcome any offers of assistance. For Valentine’s Day suggest a book you Love2Read to someone you think would Love2Read it! My suggestion suitable for all ages: The Rules of Summer by Shaun Tan and Mrs Snee's choice The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Happy reading! Mrs Anne-Marie Strother Teacher/Librarian

Uthando Dollmaking Project at GMAS The girls were very lucky to have the support and help of several lovely ladies from St Mary’s Church. Together Carol, Judy, Rosa, Sally and Eleanor, along with Deb from the Bunbury Doll Makers Group, worked with the class to sew, plait, knit, stitch and dress the dolls. Everyone worked with a sense of love, compassion and commitment to complete a total of 35 dolls, all individually hand made, to reflect the African children’s culture. In the 9 years Uthando has run, 35,000 Dolls have been sent to Africa, for children suffering the effects of the AIDS/HIV pandemic and poverty. Most of these have been made by school groups, local church communities and caring individuals in and around Perth, WA. Many thanks must go to the girls and their helpers for all the effort they put into creating such wonderful dolls which will be sent to Africa shortly, ready for delivery in the New Year. Also a big thankyou to Mrs Jill Mewett who undertook the coordination and packaging of dolls as well as making dolls, outfits, blankets, bags and getting them all organised with outfits. We will be continuing our Doll Making Group in 2014, meeting one afternoon each week. Students in Year 7-9 studying Textiles next year will also be involved in the Uthando project. Anyone interested in joining please contact me early in term 1 at [email protected] or check the GMAS What’s On for details. Mrs Christine Williamson Home Economics Teacher

GMAS Relay for Life team Busselton 2014

On 5th & 6th April Georgiana Molloy will be entering a team in the first ever “Relay for Life” event here in Busselton at Churchill Park Oval. As part of this event students are being asked to support their team by participating in some fundraising events throughout Term 1. Money raised by Relay for Life goes towards research for a cure for Cancer. If you would like to donate some money towards the GMAS team you can do so at the following link https://secure.cancercouncilfundraising.org.au/registrant/Donate.aspx?eventid=41943&langpref=en-CA&Referrer=direct%2fnone Please note that our team name is Georgiana Molloy Anglican School. Click on the “click HERE to donate to a team” link at the top of the page to donate towards our team. If you would like to participate in the GMAS Relay for Life team, you can join at the link above. Please be aware that junior students wishing to walk for the whole 24 hours (overnight) must have a parent or guardian stay at the relay event with them. A team meeting will be held on Thursday 13th of February in the Library at 3.30pm. This meeting will provide more information about the GMAS team and the event. Students (and any parents who wish to participate) are all welcome to attend. Students who are interested in participating will need to register as part of the GMAS team and the cost of registration is $25. Currently fundraising involves a Year 5 student, Malakye Forrest, who has independently come up with the idea of cutting off his beautiful curly hair. Malakye will have his hair cut off at the Week 2 Junior Assembly and has suggested his hair is worth A LOT, so please donate generously. Donation tins are located in the Cafe, Administration building and some students will be rattling tins around in the next few days. Jacinta Busher Relay for Life Team Manager
