You just booked a boudoir session with Shelly Rose Photography! Get ready to be pampered and treated like a queen for a day! Inside this digital magazine you’ll
find all kinds of great information about the studio, including what to expect during your session, what
to bring and what to wear, as well as details on what happens before, during and after your photo shoot!

FROM THE SOUTH:Take I-95 N to exit #36/Saco/Old Orchard onto I-195 E - go 1.9 miles
Take exit #2B/Saco/Portland Road onto US Route 1 - go 5.0 milesTurn Left on Broadturn Road - go 1.5 miles

We’re in a residential area– at 5 Landmark Road, Scarborough. It’s the second driveway on the right.
You can park in the driveway, and enter the door with the two white pillars. Come right upstairs!
What toexpect

As soon as you arrive at the studio, you’ll be brought upstairs by either Shelly or her assistant Kristin. They will take you into the camera room and have you lay out whatever outfits and props you’ve brought with you for your session.
Once you’re settled in, Shelly will help you pick through your outfits and props to put together some AMAZING outfits, and then will serve you a glass of wine before doing your makeup! The process of being pampered and having your makeup done will help you relax a little if you’re nervous (most ladies understandably are!) Shelly will make you feel super comfortable, talking you through the whole process and coaching you through every pose.
For your Boudoir session, you’ll need to bring your own personal lingerie and any props to personalize your session. Bra & panty sets, bustiers, and corsets are the items we suggest, along with sexy heels to match your outfits. We recommend looking at Victoria’s Secret, Forever21 in South Portland, or you can order online if you’ve scheduled your session far enough in advance. Places to look online are Fredericks.com, AgentProvocateur.com, and AdoreMe.com. A great site for plus size women is HipsAndCurves.com.
For props, you can bring in one item that is personal to you and your significant other, such as a sports jersey for their favorite team, a personal work uniform for their profession, or any items related to hobbies they may have. The prop will help to personalize the session for you and your significant other. Any additional prop that you bring in will be $25 each (it adds to the camera time). The camera room is a closed set and is a one-on-one personalized experience. This is a private session and no other family members, friends or spouses are allowed in the camera room.
What to bring & what to wear
There are a few items that we request every lady brings to her session.
If you can’t find these, pick up any brand. Make sure you pick up the full set of lashes, not the individual ones.
If Shelly is doing your makeup you’ll want to
come with a clean face and bring a pair of false eyelashes for her to put on you. Try to get more
natural looking lashes with length and avoid
the thick, caterpillar looking ones. Longer,
flirty lashes look natural and make your eyes

Also, you’ll need to bring a pair of
No Nonsense Sheer-To-Waist Pantyhose, in the
orange package. You’ll want to get the color
tan if you are normal to dark skinned, and
nude if you are very pale. The pantyhose go
underneath your outfit and help to make your
legs look long and smooth.

PANTYHOSE
Black, white or tan thigh high stockings also add a nice touch to your outfit, depending on what color your outfit is. Black for outfits with black in them, tan for light colored outfits, and white for Bridal Boudoir. If you are a bride, you can bring in white bridal lingerie for your
session, along with your veil, garter, bridal shoes, or even your dress to use as props.

THIGH HIGHS STOCKINGS
• Elastic on the inside of the lace to hold them up without garter belt
• Tend to push your legs in, creating a bulge in the thigh
• Rubber top can roll down thigh and end up showing in photos
• No elastic along the inside of the lace
• More loose in the top– will fall down without a garter belt

Your viewingappointmentOnce you’ve had your session (and had a total blast!), we’ll
schedule you to come back for a viewing appointment to see your beautiful photos! We’ll edit 2-3 images with a few different levels of retouching, showing smoothing and slenderizing so it’s easy to decide which level is best for you. Shelly will go through
all the images with you and help to narrow down to your favorite photos. Then she will review all of our fabulous products so you can choose your favorite! We offer leather albums and folios,
canvas wraps, CDs, photo wrap cover albums and much more!
The sale appointment is a private appointment, no family or friends are allowed in during your sale.

WHAT IS BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY?
Boudoir photography allows you to live out your dreams; its a chance to become that pin-up-girl! Boudoir means bedroom in French. It’s intimate, flirty, sensual and romantic portraiture. The photos are tasteful images that hint at sexiness. Every person has their own idea of what sexy is as well as what they are comfortable with. These sessions are cute, fun, sexy, flirty and even a bit sensual all the while maintaining your comfort level. They are often done as gifts for a groom before or after the wedding, or as an anniversary, Christmas, Valentines Day or birthday present for the one you love.
WHAT IF I’M VERY SHY OR WORRIED ABOUT MY BODY SHAPE?
People come in all different shapes and sizes, tall, short, large and small. Having confidence and believing in yourself is what makes fantastic pictures. At our studio you are always a perfect 10! The boudoir sessions are all about having fun, getting glammed up, letting your hair down and forgetting about insecurities. Pampering yourself with new lingerie and beauty treatments before the session definitely builds excitment and confidence! We want to celebrate who you are right now!
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FOR MY SESSION?
Expect to have fun! You’ll have a bit of time to get comfortable, have a glass of wine, get some idea of what you are looking for with your photos, look at your wardrobe, and get a general plan for your shoot. We don’t expect ladies to immediately jump into an outfit when they walk in the door. Shelly is a fun and fabulous female photographer who seriously loves what she does, and it shows in her attitude working with clients. We are dedicated to making every client look her best in a safe, comfortable,
and fun atmosphere! Most of our clients are nervous when first thinking about boudoir photography, but as you get to the studio for your session you’ll relax, have fun, and really create beautiful images.
WHAT TYPE OF CLOTHES SHOULD I BRING?
Bring at least two outfits that you feel good in. Bring lingerie, a fur coat or a button down cardigan. Bring fun or sexy hats, gloves, scarves, shoes, boots, stockings, and accessories.
HOW SHOULD I WEAR MY HAIR AND MAKEUP TO THE SESSION?
For the Mini Session: come with your hair AND makeup with false eyelashes already applied at your favorite salon (or we recommend Coco Cheveux in South Portland). Coco’s number is 207-899-4520.
For the Basic Boudoir: come with your hair already done by your favorite salon (or we recommend Coco Cheveux in South Portland) and a clean face so your makeup can be applied. Coco’s number is 207-899-4520.
For the Supermodel or Supermodel Deluxe: come in with day old hair, completely dry with no product in it. We will use hot rollers to loosely curl your hair (do NOT use a flat iron on your hair before you come to the studio). Your airbrush makeup will then be applied to your clean face.
WHAT IF I DON’T WANT EVERYONE SEEING THESE PHOTOS? WILL THEY BE POSTED ONLINE?
Absolutely not. Boudoir photo sessions are only proofed here in the studio and are never posted online for proofing. Also, images will never be used for our portfolio (web or print) unless your specific permission is given. All clients featured in the web gallery have given written permission that their images can be posted. WHAT NOT TO DO BEFORE YOUR SESSION
Do NOT spray tan before your session, it looks fake in photos. Absolutely no chipped nail polish, treat yourself to a mani/pedi in neutral tones or a color to match your outfit.
