Ebola is caused by a virus.
HOW DOES EBOLA SPREAD?
Sick people can spread thisdisease to others
Dead bodies can also spread the disease. BE CAREFUL (Bury carefully. Keep away.)
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF EBOLA?Symptoms can start within 2 days of contact with an infected person or body
• No vaccine, and no cure are available — BUT getting treatment at Ebola Centres EARLY will increase the chance of recovery• Causes a severe illness, with bleeding• Highly contagious; many people can quickly become infected• Up to 90% of the infected will die — some recover, especially those who get help EARLY
• People in direct contact with sick people are at the highest risk: • Family members • Healthcare workers
• DO NOT wash, touch or kiss dead bodies• DO NOT wash hands in the same bucket as other who have touched the body
