What is PLAR ASET Assessment?.
What is PLAR for ASET assessment? ASET (the Association of Science and Technology Professionals of Alberta) is committed to giving recognition to the qualifications of technology professionals who have unique backgrounds and circumstances. The Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR), which is a pre-assessment program is for a certification applicant who:

If you are with a journeyman certificate, have completed a post-secondary technical certificate, or have graduated from a military-technical program, then you are academically eligible for applying for C.Tech and don’t need to complete a PLAR ASET assessment. You should hire an ASET report writing expert who can also help you by writing a competency report for you following ASET technical report guidelines. The professional will also help you by taking you to the C.Tech. application page and give you further assistance.

Keep in mind: if your education is TAC-recognized, you don’t need to complete an academic assessment for C.Tech. or the ASET Certification Exam for C.E.T. Applicants for C.Tech. may reach before they apply to confirm program eligibility. If working or looking for work outside of Alberta or the Northwest Territories, you need to contact your provincial technology association to know more about membership options. If you are not a program graduate, ask an ASET expert.
