All organisations must have a constitution / set of rules and a bank account

• Does the project have a clear heritage focus clear?
• Is the heritage important and who is it important to?
• Have specific audiences been identified?
• Is there a need and demand for your project?
• Does your project offer good value for money?

Title: The Distance We Have TravelledApplicant: Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Education Trust Grant Awarded: £45,000
• Carried out 44 oral histories with Kurdish, Somali and Afghan refugee communities in Manchester, to capture their experiences of fleeing their own countries and settling in the UK
• Created a publicly accessible archive as a study resource
• Produced an exhibition and education learning pack

Title: Montserrations Life in PrestonApplicant: Preston Montserrat and
Friends Association Grant Awarded: £9,100
• Gathered stories and memories about life in Montserrat and moving to the UK
• Ran handicraft workshops to produce traditional items which featured in local exhibitions and were on display during Preston Guild’s 2012 procession
• Produced a DVD and leaflets
